Hello, Verve fans! I'm excited to be bringing you the last Viva La Verve sketch for August. As you may know, we've set aside the last sketch of each month as a CAS (clean-and-simple) sketch. Of course you're free to interpret these however you like and apply your own style, CAS or not. I can't wait to see your creations!
~DETAILS~
Every Friday, a Diva will post a sketch for your enjoyment. Your cards, using the sketches, must be uploaded by the last Thursday of the month (check for the due date below!) The winner will be announced on the next day and will win a $100 gift certificate to VERVE! How awesome is that?! Just a reminder, Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see you use them. Feel free to flip, rotate, resize, or otherwise alter the sketch as long as we can tell you USED the sketch!
We've had four sketches in August. All four of your cards must be uploaded to the VLVAUG2012 Gallery and linked up in the VLVLAUG2012 Sketch CHAMPIONS thread by midnight, CST on Thursday, August 30, to be eligible to win this month's prize! Winner will be announced on August 31! GOOD LUCK!
Keywords for the entire month will be VLVAug2012 and Verve (if using Verve stamps).
If you're new to the gallery, here's a little info on how to add your cards to our gallery:
If you haven't uploaded your cards yet, just click the Upload a Card link in the left sidebar. Keep the default category as Member Galleries. Then follow the form to browse to the photo of your card on your computer, enter a title and description then click upload/submit. On the next screen it asks you for the ingredients of the card and also has a Keyword section. In this section type the keyword for this month's challenges... VLVAug2012. When you're done filling things out, click process. It takes a few minutes to show up in our challenge gallery but as long as you've got the correct keyword, your photo will eventually appear in the VLVAug2012 Gallery.
If you've already uploaded your cards, you can edit the keywords by going to the photo in your gallery. In the bottom right corner under the information below the picture, there is an Edit Photo button. Click this, then in the Edit keywords section add the VLVAug2012 keyword and then click process. These changes take about 10 minutes or so to appear, but then your card should appear in our challenge gallery.

Yikes! I totally forgot about the Viva La Verve Challenge. I'm two cards behind now. I got so caught up in the Anni-Verve-sary Challenge, my craft closet is a mess, and I actually called my dog Verve last night (her name is Velvet)!! I can only imagine how crazy it must be for you Divas! Well, I'm going to have to tidy up my desk first then see what I can come up with.

Is it September or still August?
Ha ha! I read that this morning and never even noticed it - shows how much I pay attention huh?! I would think it's safe to say that it was a typo and the deadline is indeed 30th August
I think that was thrown in to see if we were paying attention! Well spotted, we all failed!
So strange, I thought I had copied the details from the previous August sketches. The deadline is supposed to be Thursday, August 30 and the winner will be announced on August 31. And there are four sketches this month.

Challenges I participate in: Inspirational Challenge, Sketch Challenge, Feature Stamper, Color Challenge, Ways to Use It, Sweet n Sassy Challenge, Christmas Cards, Word Art Wednesdays, Sweet V's Ideas and I am a proud Tea-Potter Challenge participant.
Try as I might, even though I didn't use a flash, I can't seem to photograph my metallic embossed cards well. I used SU's pewter embossing powder on the sentiment (on patterned paper) and on the leaves (on vellum) on this card. I really liked how the leaves turned out--the vellum kind of fades into the background. Although it doesn't photograph well, I think it looks quite elegant in person. Hope you like it.
Thanks for the sketch (I had several more ideas for using the longer, thinner sentiments in my Verve stash for this sketch, so I bet you see it pop up again.)
Here's my attempt at a CAS card using Amy's sketch this week. I plan on embellishing it just a little bit more--maybe add a few brads or something--before I give it away, but who knows, maybe the CAS version will grow on me.
