Welcome to week #2 of the Viva la Verve Challenges!!! Amber is taking some time off this month and so each week one of the Verve Divas will be hosting the challenge - this week, I am super excited to be with you for this week's sketch challenge
We are going to do the challenges this month a little different. Instead of an inspiration picture, we have a theme! This month's theme is Ornaments & Winter Decor. Find inspiration from ornaments, wreaths, trees or any of the fabulously pretty things that are decking the halls this time of year! We will also have a new Diva as hostess each week!
**The Deets**
Complete all the challenges for a chance to win our next release. Verve stamps are not required, but we love to see' em if you've got 'em!
For December, there will be 4 sketch challenges! All 4 sketch challenges MUST be uploaded to the SCS gallery with keyword VLVDec2010 by midnight on December 30th. On the last week of the month, we'll post a Sketch Challenge Champions thread for you to link all of your projects. One lucky participant who has linked their cards on the champions thread will win our January release! The winner will be announced on December 31st. Have fun!
Our keywords for December will be Verve (if using Verve stamps) and VLVDec2010. The keywords will remain the same ALL MONTH, please make sure to add the keyword correctly or your cards won't show up in the gallery!
Attached below is my sketch for this week and my sample for the sketch challenge. I was inspired by all the sparkley bling bling that deck the halls this time of year - I love all the different colored ornaments and multi-colored lights that trim the trees - so I went with the a multi color approach using the gorgeous stamp sets: Glad Tidings, Winter Mittens and the awesome Verve: A Cut Above die:Sweet Scallop die. The oval image in the stamp could be for the sentiment but I used that area for my snowflakes (sometimes its hard for me to follow my own sketch )
We can't wait to see what you create - just remember to label it with the keywords: Verve (if using Verve stamps) and VLVDec2010!!! Have fun creating!!!
Hugs!
Great sketch, Sankari! Thanks for hosting and posting early! MY CARD

OK, so after following Marisa, and Maureen's lead (embrace the tilted panels!), here's what I came up with. I was heavily influenced by former Verve Diva Laura Fredrickson, and a set of cards she has posted HERE.
Kathy - you totally embraced the tilted panels and created pure gorgeousness!! LOVE that ribbon and the way you did the focal image!! Thanks so much for playing along!!! Big hugs!
thanks Sankari! I have a quick question. I'm new to these challenges but I'm excited to start. Do we use the sketch AND the inspiration challenge or are they separate?
HI Jen! Yes, it is to use both. The inspiration challenge this month is to create something inspired by Ornaments and Winter Decor. Each week this month, the Verve Divas will give you a different sketch that you can incorporate with the inspiration Hope that made sense But basically, the answer is yes )))) Can't wait to see your gorgeous creation!!!
Okay, Sankiri, after MUCH blood, sweat and tears, I finished my card. You even drove me to cannibalizing a Christmas decoration for the bells. See what those nasty skewed panels do to me LOL! Here's my card.
