~DETAILS~
Every Friday, a Diva will post a sketch for your enjoyment. Your cards, using the sketches, must be uploaded by the last Thursday of the month (check for the due date below!) The winner will be announced on the next day and will win a $100 gift certificate to VERVE! How awesome is that?! Just a reminder, Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see you use them. Feel free to flip, rotate, resize, or otherwise alter the sketch as long as we can tell you USED the sketch!
For August, we'll have FOUR sketches! All FOUR cards must be uploaded to the VLVAug2012 gallery by midnight, CST on Thursday, August 30th to be eligible to win this month's prize! Winner will be announced on August 31st! GOOD LUCK!
Keywords for the entire month will be VLVAug2012 and Verve (if using Verve stamps).
If you're new to the gallery, here's a little info on how to add your cards to our gallery:
If you haven't uploaded your cards yet, just click the Upload a Card link in the left sidebar. Keep the default category as Member Galleries. Then follow the form to browse to the photo of your card on your computer, enter a title and description then click upload/submit. On the next screen it asks you for the ingredients of the card and also has a Keyword section. In this section type the keyword for this month's challenges... VLVAug2012. When you're done filling things out, click process. It takes a few minutes to show up in our challenge gallery but as long as you've got the correct keyword, your photo will eventually appear in the VLVAug2012 Gallery
If you've already uploaded your cards, you can edit the keywords by going to the photo in your gallery. In the bottom right corner under the information below the picture, there is an Edit Photo button. Click this, then in the Edit keywords section add the VLVAug2012 keyword and then click process. These changes take about 10 minutes or so to appear, but then your card should appear in our challenge gallery.

Until then here's a couple samples from Maureen and I!
Such wonderful cards! Oh my, look at all those layers-I am mildly petrified now! It's ok, I shall suck it up and give it a go! Thank you for the challenge and the gorgeous samples
Such a fun sketch and beautiful samples! Here's my take on it. And there just might have been a couple peeks that just jumped onto my card. Those dies have a mind of their own, I tell ya! {grin}

Sian, you read my mind! This sketch is going to be a challenge for me with all those layers but somehow, someway, I'll find a way.
Challenges I participate in: Inspirational Challenge, Sketch Challenge, Feature Stamper, Color Challenge, Ways to Use It, Sweet n Sassy Challenge, Christmas Cards, Word Art Wednesdays, Sweet V's Ideas and I am a proud Tea-Potter Challenge participant.
ladies, don't be scared! If you look at my sample, you'll see I "adjusted" the layers to work for me! Be creative! I like to break down a sketch into sections...shapes, sentiment and any borders/ribbon...('cause I was scared too!

I'm so sorry the sketch is intimidating gals... I didn't mean to scare you! lol Maureen's comment is so right. Just add what inspires you and you'll be just fine! I know you can do it!

Oh no, I feel terrible now! it's only because I'm a CAS girl - but like I said, I shall suck it up and break it down as soon as I get my craft space back! it's a lovely sketch and there have been some wonderful cards made already - we can do this!!!
I left off the half oval shape. I've been on a kick with using some really bright and bold colors lately...not my normal style. I love how it came out, but it was just a lot going on for me, and I couldn't figure out how to incorporate that one additional layer.
Thanks, Janelle. Definitely a good challenge this week.

oh, that would be cool! Try to make a CAS version of this sketch! I know my CAS girlfriends do this by stamping some of the shapes instead of making them layers. Does that make sense? I know you'll think of something wonderful and make it your own

I love how much faith you have! As soon as I can I'll give this a try-I just hope I don't disappoint now! Thanks ladies for all your encouragement, you are fabulous!
Wow! What a sketch! Oddly enough this one didn't freak me out too much - I just followed the wonderful samples from the Verve Divas and away I went. I even stitched on my cards as well!
Precious Kitty, Nicole, Sheena and Vannessa! Thanks ladies for playing along with the sketch! I'm headed to go see them in the gallery!

It turns out that I liked working with this sketch a lot. I was a little worried about all those layers/elements at first, but once I got going I really had a lot of fun with it.
Oh, wow! It was so much fun looking through all your creations! Thank you all so much for taking a deep breath and trying out my intimidating sketch! LOL Next time around I'll work on being more... easy!
I hope you all are catching the sneak peeks that are starting with our Spotlight Hop. On Day 1 we sneaked a die that would make this sketch even easier! LOL
This striped paper called to me and made me think of those flags on the sketch, so I decided to use it! Love how this card came together. Great sketch!
Ok, so I tackled this sketch, and you know, it wasn't so bad! I'm sorry for whinging Janelle! When I sat down to actually make this card, it all kinda came together - luckily!
