Hello and welcome to the August Viva la Verve sketch challenges! Can you even believe that it's already August? Let's jump right in!
Details:
Every Friday, a Diva will post a sketch for your enjoyment. Your cards, using the sketches, must be uploaded by the last Thursday of the month (check for the due date below!) The winner will be announced on the next day and will win the ENTIRE next Verve stamp release! How awesome is that?! Just a reminder, Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see you use them. Feel free to flip, rotate, resize, or otherwise alter the sketch as long as we can tell you USED the sketch!
For August, we'll have FIVE sketches! All five cards must be uploaded to the VLVAug2011 gallery by midnight, CST on Thursday, September 1st to be eligible to win this month's prize! Winner will be announced on September 2nd! GOOD LUCK!
Keywords for the entire month will be VLVAug2011 and Verve (if using Verve stamps).
**Some Upload Information**
If you're new to the gallery, here's a little info on how to add your cards to our gallery:
If you haven't uploaded your cards yet, just click the Upload a Card link in the left sidebar. Keep the default category as Member Galleries. Then follow the form to browse to the photo of your card on your computer, enter a title and description then click upload/submit. On the next screen it asks you for the ingredients of the card and also has a Keyword section. In this section type the keyword for this month's challenges... VLVAug2011. When you're done filling things out, click process. It takes a few minutes to show up in our challenge gallery but as long as you've got the correct keyword, your photo will eventually appear in the VLVAug2011 Gallery
If you've already uploaded your cards, you can edit the keywords by going to the photo in your gallery. In the bottom right corner under the information below the picture, there is an Edit Photo button. Click this, then in the Edit keywords section add the VLVAug2011 keyword and then click process. These changes take about 10 minutes or so to appear, but then your card should appear in our challenge gallery.
Just a little reminder, that heart element doesn't have to be a heart! Make it a square, a circle, a butterfly, an oval, whatever you want.
Thanks to Maureen, Tosha, Andrea and Charmaine for helping me out with samples this week! I'm camping as you read this so no time for crafting, lol! Can't wait to see everyone's cards when I get back.
I'll also be linking up with the Diva Dare as soon as I remember I used LOTS of patterned paper. Thanks, Maureen, for the inspiration to break out the Out of Print
So happy to play again this month! I completely missed July! I cheated a little and didn't make a square card... Love the samples girls ~ you're all so inspiring! Here is my week one:
“If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning... Face it, friend. He is crazy about you!” - Max Lucado
Enjoyed using the Jotted Heart again. I realize I could replace it with a different shape, but I'm sure partial to it's lopsidedness. Seems so fitting for real love...a bit messy and off-kilter.
Here's my card for Week #1! I used my new Emery Plain Jane and the Birthday Phrases set. Makes me wish I could have gotten the Charming Banner dies, too. They would have been perfect on this card!
That's hilarious! I just got back yesterday from Camping. LOL! I am so anxious to play along with this month's sketches, as I didn't get a chance to play last month! I also noticed you are at Kadena AFB in Okinawa. We were stationed there from 2003-2006. We really enjoyed it!!
Here are my two cards using this sketch. I used it because it eas easy for VSN.
*Updated: I didn't like the whale card where I used the sketch for a VSN challenge so I added to it. I will upload the new whale card tonight. I didn't have enough time in the VSN challenge to do all I wanted in the timeframe allowed. After a few days and thinking about how I wanted to change it, I came up with something I like a little better now.
oh my goodness Amber I luv this sketch...sorry I did not get a sample sooner, I have been sooooo busy and trying to do a little combining when possible....
Hello everyone! Just finished viewing and commenting on all the fabulous eye candy submitted for this sketch! WOW! Fabulous work everyone. I've printed out the sketch and hope to be back to share my version of it with you soon. Thanks for all the great inspiration, Ladies
Am super lovin' this sketch, Amber! Running late but finally got MY CARD finished!
