If you enter this question into an internet search engine, you get thousands of links with differing opinions. Actually, I don’t really care which came first, they both taste great!

Title: All the Twists and Turns of Spring
Hostess: schirmcat (Kelly)
Keyword: MAR12VSNMINI2
Day/Date: Friday, February 10th
Time: 6:00 PM EST

When I saw the theme for this VSN, my eye went right to the word "sprung". I thought of spring in upstate New York as it's always full of "twists and turns"! One minute, the sun is shining and the daffodils are peeking through the garden...and the next? Don't put those boots away because it could be windy, raining, or even worse? SNOWING!

So how to incorporate these twists into a card-making challenge? Use some twisty, turny FLOURISHES on your card! They can be stamped, die cut, embossed, stitched, paper-pierced or hand-drawn with a pen! How about stickers or rub-ons? Don't forget you could use some patterned paper with flourishes, a fancy bracket image, or even a sentiment with some flourishy script!

I can't wait to see your creative use of flourishes to show how spring will be springing near you!

Title: 3-D Flowers
Hostess: Barbara, bejoyce
Keyword: MAR12VSNMINI3
Day/Date: Friday, FEBRUARY 10
Time: 7:00pm EST

Here in the Seattle area, we had quite a storm in January--snow, ice, wind, and major power outages. We were without power for three days, and it was cold and dark. I am **SO** ready for Spring, and the beautiful flowers that will soon be here.

My challenge for you is to make a card or other project using one or more 3-dimensional flowers that you have made.
You can use punches, dies, Nestabilities, or even cut them freehand. You can use cardstock, printed paper, vellum, tissue paper, ribbon or even fabric. Note that you have to make the flowers youself--no Primas or other pre-made flowers, please! Layer those babies, and make those flowers pop off the page!

The flower on my card was made with four cuts of the smallest flower in the SU Fun Flowers die. I cut two Pink Pirouette and two Pretty in Pink. Then I used the Faux Suede technique, giving me 8 layers. I sponged the Pink Pirouette layers with Pretty in Pink, and the Pretty in Pink layers with Regal Rose ink, alternated the layers (suede side up) and secured with a shiny pink brad.

Title: Poppin' Posies
Hostess: stampin-sunnychick

Your challenge is to create a card using posies as inspiration. Use pop dots or other items to "pop" your posies. Stamped images, printed images, images cut from patterned paper, posy shaped cards with popped posies...the sky is the limit. Use your imagination...get creative.

Bonus: to me "poppin" not only means to makes something stand off a page using dimension but to also make your colors POP! Use vibrant colors to make some gorgeous creations.

"IF" you don't have posies...other similar flowers are welcome.

Default Spring Has Sprung MINI VSN Master Challenge thread

Title: Tulip Tones
Hostess: Heather (JadeOnline)
Keyword: MAR12VSNMINI5
Day/Date: Friday, February 10th
Time: 9:00 pm EST

When I think of spring, I think of tulips. One of my favorite things is walking into the grocery store and seeing those bright spring blooms in a multitude of colors waiting to brighten up my rooms....reds, yellows, oranges, purples, pinks....of course, all contrasted by the broad rich green leaves.

Look at these gorgeous tulip images! Aren't those tulip fields amazing? I'd love to see them in person one day.

TulipFields-1-1.jpg

My challenge to you is to make a card inspired by tulips....for your theme, use a floral image (it doesn't have to be tulips). For your color combination, use tulip tones....a bright green and the color(s) of your favorite tulip (remember, some tulips have two or even three colors in them).

Remember that you can't combine VSN challenges!
