Every Day Vacay by Tessaduck ~ JUN14VSND ~ Fri. Jun 6th 9:00 pm
Challenge Title: Every Day Vacay
Hostess: tessaduck (Brenda)
Keyword: JUN14VSND
Date: Friday, June 6, 9 P. M., EST
Im a retired teacher. The summer vacation after I retired felt normal, but with September, retirement became a reality. I came to understand that retirement was an ultimate vacation, with more choices and opportunities than I could imagine. So, nearly every year, a former colleague takes the same step into retirement. This year, there are two: a first grade teacher and the cafeteria manager. Believe me, its something to celebrate.
For this challenge, make a card or project acknowledging someones retirement. Alternatively, make it for a bon voyage or graduation event.

Love, love love your card! That is a picture of me after retirement! LOL
I probably won't get to this till tomorrow, unless I stay up and do it later tonight.
Thank you for the challenge!
Hi all! Ironically I'm away from the computer, at a retirement event. I've sneaked away long enough to welcome you via phone. Must sign off until later. Have fun with the bye bye cards!

Hi there! I told Brenda I would pop in to help out with a bit of chat while she is out! Here's a question for you. If you are retired what's your favorite part of retirement and if you aren't retired yet what are you looking forward to most.

I am retired! A favorite part has to be that I can play in my craft room more often! In fact I can get up and go down and play in my craft room, and forget to get dressed and forget to eat breakfast! So, now you know! Don't get to do that too often, but did it once this week!
Definitely a challenge for me, which often brings out the best in my cards, but not this time. I do need a graduation card for my niece, so maybe I'll try again.
I consider myself semi-retired. I didn't work for a year and a half and found that I wanted to go back to work so I'm working part time now and liking it!

Oh how fun! I've seen your desk on WOYWW and know you must have a blast in your stamp room!!

The gathering was perfect. Lots of current and former (like me) staff attended in order to acknowledge our retiring friend/colleague. It was good to catch up with them! And she loves her quilt. Goosebumps.

Cool challenge! I have a way to go for my retirement. Although I keep saying I probably won't retire. So I want to be a Starbucks Barista when I am older than I am now. It will probably be the only way I will be able to afford my expensive coffee addiction.
My mom is retiring next June. Maybe I can make a card for her and save it till then. LOL! I will sleep on it and get stamping again in the morning.

Gilbert is coming up on retirement but he says he will work til he is 70. Stampin foot....I want to move to warmer climate, someplace like Georgia!!!

Oh ha ha, well I never forget to eat but I do sometimes get to stamping and realize after a couple of hours I am still Jammie clad. Glad I'm not the only one who does that. Thx for the confession and making me feel I am normal! Whatever that is besides a setting on a dryer!

I've SO done that... All my jammie pants have ink stains on the right thigh. Yes, I clean and blot on a rag, but before I put it away, I give it an absent-minded swipe across the pajama leg.
btw, that's what I like about my retirement. The fuzzy purple robe has real meaning to me! SO nice to have that lazy option.

Well that didn't take long, did you decide not to go out after the event? What no pie for dessert?
It got cancelled. Sort of. A couple were coming from out-of-state, so we'd planned to have a nice dinner gathering afterward. Well, the out-of-state friend had a medical emergency (She's okay, now...) and decided not to come. The rest of our small group didn't feel all that motivated to excuse ourselves from the lounge, where everyone was enjoying a Friday/celebrate Marj no-stress time, and will re-schedule when our WA friends come later in the summer. Last minute decision, and I'm fine with it.

I'm retired, and I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. That said, I find the need for structure or I'd never get out of my jammies! The best part is I can run errands all day and craft whenever I want to.
Speaking of which, I'll be back tomorrow with some challenge cards! Such fun challenges!
Brenda, I made this tonight just before our challenges went live but I wasn't sure if I would get a decent photograph or would have to wait until morning. It's not too bad so here is.... Grad/Retirement-Sort of!

From what I am reading of everyone's retirement I would say it comes pretty close to summer vacation at our house! Now and then during the summer, I stay in my jammies, I stay up toooooooo late crafting, etc! I think I am going to like retirement!

I have a fuzzy pink robe that I love to wear during winter break!!! Sometimes during winter break I don't get out of my super warm jammies and robe until late afternoon! They are the warmest things I own in winter!!!

Angie, I'm SO glad you uploaded it tonight. It's such a precious story and beautiful card! Gives me goosebumps.

I rushed home from my cooking class in such a hurry to see the D challenge! I was able to pull out an old Karen Lockhart stamp. FYI: I actually met her in person and she signed this stamp for me.
Oh, wow, Audrie! Love, love, love that swing! I still enjoy the swings. There's a huge wonderful old-time swing at the camp where our fifth graders go for resident outdoor school. During breaks, I'd find time to visit it. Eh! Memories!
