How many of you remember or have played the game, I Spy�?
Well, if you do not remember, here is how it will work for our kids challenge today! With your children, walk around in the house, garage, or the backyard. (Take paper and pencil along with you to record the items that you have found!) Your mission� I SPY opposites! I spy with my little eye, something that is BIG!!! Parents, if your child is young, you will need to explain the meaning of opposites to them. So, if your child spots something that is BIG, you will then tell them they will then need to spy something that is small! You may give the children clues by saying: �I Spy with my little eye, something that is �..� (Clues may tell them a color, location, direction to look, etc.)
Continue playing the game until you have several different opposites. Examples include: cat and dog, rough and smooth, fast and slow, heavy and light, open and closed, right and left, hot and cold, up and down, sweet and sour, tall and short, hard and soft, and top and bottom. These are just a few opposites that you might find in your I Spy game!
Now that you have found several opposites, take your list and find those items in magazines, newspapers, coloring books, stamps, or draw/paint them yourself!
Your challenge is to use these items to make either a card or a mini album showing your own I-Spy adventure!
For those of you who do not have children and wish to play along with this challenge/game--that�s easy! Play the game yourself with your stamps, digi stamps, or other items that are available to you. Use as many opposites as you can on your card or in your mini album. A mini album of opposites would make a wonderful gift for a niece or nephew just beginning to learn about opposites!
Note: Splitcoaststampers has wonderful tutorials on different shaped cards and albums if you need inspiration!
