SEP12VSNN ~ Saturday, September 22 ~ 8:00pm EST ~ School Themed Paper
Hi friends and welcome to Virtual Stamp Night September 2012 Back to School!
Title: School-Themed Designer Paper
Hostess: Cindy Coutts (KY Southern Belle)
Day/Date: Saturday, September 22, 2012
Time: 8:00pm EST
I have the pleasure to hostess a challenge for this special occasion and I have a very fun challenge for you:
CHALLENGE: TO MAKE YOUR OWN SCHOOL THEMED DESIGNER PAPER - You can use designer paper or whatever other embellishments you would like but NO STAMPING! The ONLY item that can be stamped on your card is the SENTIMENT.
It's very easy to do. Let your paper go to work for you!
For my card, I cut several 1/2" strips of Stampin' Up! Storybook Designer Series Paper and adhered them diagonally to a Real Red card stock base covering the entire card. I then trimmed of the edges.
I used Papertry Ink Half & Half Die cut onto Daffodil Delight card stock to anchor my sentiment which was stamped on Vintage Cream card stock from Teach & Inspire using Midnight Muse ink for the frame that was die-cut from Fillable Frames #7, and then stamped my sentiment in Real Red.
I wrapped New Leaf Baker's Twine around the center of the card a few times and then adhered the entire sentiment panel onto the card with foam tape. I finished the card off with a silver Library Clip.
I hope that you like this and please join us for our fun challenges this evening.
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday September 24th.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, SEP12VSNN.
I don't know what happened but at the last minute, the mods moved my card link to a different gallery. I hope they fix it. I was up all last night and on top of it, I'm moving. Ugh. And now I'm going to bed. Comments in the morning or when I wake up in about 5 hours not being able to sleep!
Get creative! There's a lot of school-themed stuff out there that's outside of the box. You ladies can do this Whoever suggested the grid paper is brilliant! Thank you so much for helping.
Thanks for the challenge Cindy! My awesome stamping friend said I would never use the Love Impressions paper (it is very against my personality) so I was proud of myself when I realized it would be a great DSP for this challenge!
