Back in the day of Victorian classrooms (and actually in the Simpsons classroom's too) the children sat in rows all facing the blackboard and the teacher's desk, looking a bit like this:

But my classroom looks nothing like that. In fact I don't even have a teacher's desk, not a proper one. I have a small children's table for my computer that is connected to my interactive whiteboard, but not an adult sized desk. My 5 sets of children's tables are also in groups of 6 or 8.
Those older classroom layouts are perfect for a sketch though. My challenge is to use the sketch below, based on a linear style classroom to create a card. Feel free to flip it, rotate it as long as I can still see the sketch there. I've added a couple of samples as well.

2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.

I absolutely love snow days, but we hardly get any over here in the UK. Possibly 1 day a year and then we almost have to fight to get it as our head teacher makes us go in if it snows. His idea is if he can get in from the little country village about 10 miles away then most of the staff who live in the city can do as well! Might have to think about moving out to the sticks where I can't get out of my driveway!

Great sketch idea Vanessa, and it's all I've ever known, we started school with slate tablets and slate sticks and look at where we are now back to tablets even though they are some what more expensive

Love your card - fab idea and I love all the rainbow squares!
And you're spot on with the tablets. My school haven't quite got them yet. My head teacher won't go down the iPad route just yet, so we've got a stack of notebooks coming instead - the electronic versions :P But in a few years time I can see almost all schools in the UK using some sort of tablet.
This one just reminds me of lots of fun wrapped presents - perfect for Christmas!
It was SO much fun to make... LOVE me a FUN sketch!

Fun sketch! My inspiration struck last night for your challenge. I am not sure it turned out as good as I hoped but after investing the time last night, I wasn't going to trash it. Maybe another kind of ribbon or twine would have been better on the tags. Anyway....
