One of the most immediate "words" or "phrases" I hear when I think of a pirate is "ARRR!" I don't quite know why they say that, and it seems to be one of those words that can have several meanings in pirate talk, lol! But we're not REALLY pirates, are we? We're just playing one in real life The challenge: Create a card with THREE "R"s on it, that's it! It can be a color that starts with "R", an embellishment that starts with "R" or maybe even a shape that starts with "R"! As long as you can explain what three things on your card start with "R", it's fair game. Ya dig?

Now, if'n ye can't see the video or ye don't know about Jake and the Never Land Pirates, they be a bit of a spin off on Peter Pan! You all know Peter Pan and his enemy, Captain Hook. This song is all about Captain Hook's first mate, Mr. Smee, and his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad cooking! We dare ye to cook up something fer yerself!
Our challenge is to make a card or creation using some kind of food image or be inspired by some kind of food. If ye choose to be inspired by food, be sure to tell us about yer inspiration! Or ye may have to walk the plank! Argh!

or just a little too much GROG? AHOY landlubbers- we have been at sea for a mighty long time and have a little bit of cabin fever! We pirates are known for indulging in a wee bit too much grog (well, not this pirate ) and our raucous living! Glasses flying and breaking everywhere! Food being thrown! Wearing fruit on our heads??? (oh wait, that's only in Muppet land! ) Your challenge- should you choose to accept it (and if not- ye can walk the plank) is to use the cracked glass technique! And for your viewing pleasure- a little cabin fever!
Bonus points if you use the video as inspiration somehow!

Avast me hearties! As ye all know, pirates be dirty, thievin' scoundrels who’ll be makin' off with anything that catches their fancy and claimin’ it for their own.
Ye challenge be to play pirate and CASE a card from one of your favorite stampers. Add some bling. Pirates like bling. And rum, but that be difficult to stamp with. Be sure to follow the Pirate Code when ye be CASEing. Change at least two things because every pirate has her own style and give credit to ye fellow matey by linking to the original card in ye upload.
If ye have never CASED before, just scout out the gallery, choose a card ye fancy, make ye own version. Easy as stealin' candy from babies, which sounds like good pirate fun.
If ye be looking for something to do with ye cards, check out Cards for a Cause May Mission, hosted by our own Cap'n Michelle. No stickles, glitter, or shimmer spray allowed, but spica pens and rhinestones be fine.

Last night a dreaded pirate ship landed on your peaceful island and all the villagers took refuge in the jungle ... THIS TIME, the vermin pirates kept to themselves, ravaged food from the island and have set sail once again. Now with a sigh of relief you stand on the beach watching the pirate ship sail off into the sunset...
My challenge to you is to use sponges to create a background (clear embossing powder MAY be helpful for this technique but is NOT necessary) - you MUST use at least one stamped image
Michelle Zindorf has many tutorials on how to do this technique (she uses a brayer but you need to use sponges or daubers - pirates use sponges to swab the floor - argh) ... here are some tutorials
* (leaf on water) ... I've seen this done with a dragonfly on the water
* Emboss Resist is another technique using clear embossing powder - I used it for my bird over the sea
* Sponge Daubers can also be used - Theresa Momber on Crafting the Web has several tutorials - here's a winter scene tutorial (white could be used for frothing water)
OK, OK - I'll stop with the resources and let you get on with the card making ... I can't wait to see your projects
BONUS POINTS ... mat your creation so that it has at least 2 layers
Ahoy, if you need ideas for colors Aye just go to google, type in a keyword - like a stamp image you want to use (ie. flying over water (for bird), sunset, lake reflection, butterflies, flower, etc) then click images on the top left corner for pictures to come up

Well, me hearties, if you’ve ever seen a pirate movie, or even a pirate cartoon, you’ve probably seen a bunch of pirates singing “"Fifteen men on the dead man's chest --.Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum! Drink and the devil had done for the rest -- ...Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!"
While pirates have a (probably well-deserved) reputation for swigging rum, that ditty didn’t spring from a pirate ship, but from the pen of Robert Louis Stevenson, who created it for the pirate’s tale “Treasure Island” in the late 1800s.
But we’re not here today to talk about alcohol – we’re here to use it in stamping. Alcohol inks, alcohol markers and rubbing alcohol are all supplies used for various techniques. And, me swabbies, if you can find a simple Sharpie marker somewhere in your house, you are the proud owner of an alcohol marker and can try some of these techniques.
This is a “Ways to Use it” challenge, so be creative. If you don’t have the supplies to do a fancy technique, think of creative ways to use your “alcohol.” Sharpie markers or alcohol inks (did you forget you have a few bottles buried in your stash?) can be used to color brads and other non-porous embellishments, for example. Bonus points to those who try a technique they’ve never tried before.
"Non-alcoholic Alternative Challenge" Your treasure chest doesn't include alcohol-based supplies? Instead of walking the plank, set sail for your drink-themed stamps (coffee, tea, champagne, margaritas etc) for your card for this challenge.

Davy Jones' Locker is a fictitious place at the bottom of the ocean where death awaited. But we'll focus on the PRETTY part of the bottom of the ocean!! LOL
So my challenge is to be inspired by anything you would find at the bottom of the ocean.....think coral, or bubbles from vents, sunken ships or the very interesting creatures that inhabit the ocean floors!!! Then create an ocean beauty to share!!!!
