Title: Cloudy with the Chance of a Sketch
Hostess: Kelly (schirmcat)
Keyword: NOV10VSNP
Day/Date: Saturday, November 13th
Time: 9:00pm EST
Hello everyone! Your local Meteorologist just called with a weather report...and he said it's "Cloudy with the chance of a SKETCH"!
Attached is my sample card with a sketch for you to follow. Use a shape at the top...as you can see mine is floating right off the top of my card. Make yours "floaty", too! It can be any shape, but triple extra credit points if you use a wavy or scallopy shape...like a cloud! You can use punches, nesties, hand-cut a shape...anything will do. Don't forget to add a breezy little sentiment at the bottom of your card! It can be a banner like mine, or it can be stamped right on the card base!
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday, November 15th.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, NOV10VSNP , when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure you layout is seen.
I'm hanging on in your thread while I am fussy cutting for the last challenge! And I am thinking about yours. What kind of dimensions are you using here to make your card fit in an envelope?
Dimensions would be the one reason why I have never tried to make a card like the one you have made for us!
I would think you simply add the shape at the top and then measure how much it sticks out then simply cut that much off each side of the card at the bottom. That would work right?
The aqua base is 5 3/8, and then the scallop extends over 5/8 off the base. So the card itself is a 4x6. The scalloped punch I used is the Marvy Uchida lavender one! Hope that helps!
cool sketch Kelly....I wish I had a stamp of a meatball.....LOL
You could make a meatball with a scalloped circle punch no?
And Meljen has a freebie digi image of a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs over at papercraft planet if you are a member there as well. Just passing along the info...

Out of the mouth of the Crafty Math Chick!!! My ability to do math was gone about 4 hours ago!

Okay! I'll jot down some notes here and get to work! I finished my fussy cutting and applied glitter. Now I am waiting for my glitter to dry!

no way.. I was actually joking! You guys are awesome...I'm gonna go check it out now! May have to make another card!
LOL, I don't believe that Toni, EVERYONE CAN do math!! I believe in you!
Okay, maybe I should have said mental math. I figured out the dimensions that I wanted to use when I wrote down Kelly's sketch
And, seriously, the math that the kids at my school (K-6) are using is way different than what I remember. They teach the kind of things I thought about to solve the problems. It's strange
