We just moved recently and finding the iron may prove to be a tad difficult! (Obviously it wasn't one of the first things I unpacked!) But if I do happen to find it, do you have to change the tinfoil between each colour, Jen??

Nope! 'Course I'm lazy!!!!
You can if you want, but I like how it 'smooshes' the colors together a bit more!!!
Just if you're doing a bunch of cards at once, you'll need to change the tinfoil periodically (big word, eh?)!!! Otherwise it'll tear and the crayon will get on your iron!
Ack! I wanna do this one right now! I have to go out tonight, but I don't want to. This VSN stuff is so addicting. (my poor kids - lol) I will have to come home early and finish all these awesome challenges. This one looks so cool when it's done! (hmmm, maybe a new stampers club technique......)
See you later,

My smearing was because I handled it to quickly after stamping, not because I moved while stamping; but I heat set the next time and that worked. Now I need to finish the card.
Sorry I'm late, ya'll! I had to work tonight so my little old lady's family could go out to dinner... and I didn't feel like lugging all my stamp stuff so HERE I AM! I'm just gonna hang for a while and maybe pick one or two challenges to do later...

C'ya!
DO MINE!!!! It's easy and quick and oh-so-fun, plus it's MINE!!! Bwahahaha!
This is my first time trying this technique. I keep getting silver streaks from the tinfoil when I do it. Are you putting the crayon all over the iron? or just in one area? Any tips to avoid the metal streak?

I smear it over the top/tip of the iron usually. The more layers you add will cover up any streaks from the tinfoil.
I also try to cover the area (tip of the iron) with the crayons and then iron with just that area--it will help to cut down on the streaking as well!
What a challenge for my family and 4 kids to come home to! The scent of melting crayons, huge messes, crazy mother in the kitchen! They did bring me a granita though so all is well. The layout was my daughters idea.
This is my first melted crayon card! Now I have to figure out how to get the melted crayon off the ironing board cover. I had 2 layers of paper and it still melted through! Hey, it was worth a new ironing board cover!
Love this technique. DH wanted a homemade valentine and I think this will be the one for him. He loves blue. Thanks for teaching me this awesome technique, great challenge.
