Default AUG10VSNJ~Sat. Aug 28., 4:00 PM EST~Home of the Brave

Title: Home of the Brave
Hostess: Kelly (schirmcat)
Keyword: AUG10VSNJ
Day/Date: Saturday, August 28th
Time: 4:00 PM EST

Summertime in the USA makes me think of all of the people outside enjoying sports and games...whether it be at the local T-ball or soccer park or at a stadium. I have had the pleasure of going to Yankees Stadium when I was little, Fenway Park to see the Boston Red Sox when I was in high school, and also to Shea Stadium to see the Mets when I was in college. The electric atmosphere, vendors, and crowds are almost more exciting than the games! But my favorite part is listening to the "Star-Spangled Banner", and hearing the crowd ROAR after the last line is sung..."and the home of the BRAVE!"

So my challenge to you is to create a card incorporating the following list of supplies, and you will notice that they spell out "BRAVE"! Please include at least 1 of each of these on your project (but then after you can add other colors and embellies, too, if you'd like):

B is "Blue"
R is "Ribbon"
A is "Accent" with something sparkly
V is "Vellum"
E is "Embossing" (heat embossing or by using folders/templates,etc.)

VIEW THE GALLERY FOR THIS CHALLENGE HERE

UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday August 30th.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, AUG10VSNJ, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.

It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your project is seen.

Oh kinda long story...my last name is Schirmer. My husband's nickname in high school was Schirmdog (??)...so when we first got married somebody said, "Well then that must make you Schirmcat now"! When it came time for an email/screename, I didn't think anyone would have that!

That really is like the sweetest thing ever.

Back in just a few. Gotta gather up the supplies - and figure out what image I'm going to use for this challenge.

I think I would have preferred Kelly S., hee! My maiden name was Parker. I liked that one because nobody ever spelled or said it wrong! My name is pronounced Shurr-murr, ...I get a lot of Skermer or Shrime-er, ha!

I was sunk either way. So many people mispronounce both my maiden name *and* my married name. It's so irritating to have them say "Cheese-er"

Phew! These challenges are all taking me the full 45 minutes today. I got all 5 elements of BRAVE, but I have a lot of shiny stuff, i.e., glitter, all over my table and me! I'm letting it dry and will upload later. Thanks for another fun challenge. I've done 7 of the 10 so far, which is pretty good for me. Keep 'em comin'.
