Default AUG10VSNF - Cool, clear water!

AUG10VSNF ~ Saturday, August 29th ~ 12:00pm EST ~ Cool, clear water![/

Title: Cool, clear water
Hostess: Karen, imastampin
Keyword: AUG10VSNF
Day/Date: Saturday, August 28th
Time: 12:00pm EST

Ooooooo eeeeeeee, it has been a HOT summer! How do you cool down? We all love to cool off by playing in water in the summer, whether it is jumping into the pool, lake or river, throwing water balloons, water fights with squirt guns or just sitting under a mister and drinking some cool lemonade.

My challenge is to use water in some way when creating your card. Here are a few ideas: watercolor with markers, reinkers, watercolor crayons or watercolor pencils, mist your inked stamp before stamping, wet and crumple your cardstock, wet paper water coloring, wet watercolor crayons, wrinkle-free distress, shimmering watercolor crayons, wet a sponge and dip in your ink and sponge the edges of your card, moisten mulberry paper and tear it, watercolor wash, etc. Several of these techniques are found in the Resources section if you need some help. A water image does not count! I want you to use water in some other way to create your card.

View the gallery for this challenge HERE

UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday August 30th.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, AUG10VSNF when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.

It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your creation is seen.
I used a non-stick craft sheet and a smoosh technique for my card. For more info, go to my blog.

Ok, we're off and running again with our first challenge of the day. I'm going to have to look at the resource page to see if there is a technique I can do for this. Be back later.

Man, I thought I was really late when I saw TWO new challenges in the master thread. Then I realized that one was a duplicate. Whew! I've been keeping up with each challenge and was trying hard to not get behind. Of course, it doesn't help that I'll have to break to make meals. DH is NOT willing to fend for himself! Be thankful if you have one who does.

Looks like a fun challenge.

Um...meet them when they're young? I'm not sure, really. Of course, right now he's got our youngest at her weekly Pokemon tournament ...but they'll be back in time for my challenge at 2.

Good morning! Well, it's morning here. I think I'll go make a watery card with my coffee.

I brought home a bunch of Thai food last night that will carry through lunch and another dinner! I might have to make some eggs for breakfast though.

Whew! I barely got this one made within the 45 minutes. I used the "wrinkle free distress" technique altho I don't think I did it right. But I used water, and that's the important part, right? I do like how it turned out, and I made two using the same image from Elements of Style. I'll save the other for another card. You'll have to wait to see it until I get a batch to upload all at once. Thanks Karen. This was fun.

Wow, what a way to start the day! Great challenge, Karen, thanks. I used the reinker spread technique for this one. Not sure I love the way the green kind of changed color and isn't a perfect match (yeah, I'm picky sometimes). Still, I had fun!
Here it is:

newbie here - trying to upload for the first time ever. Under "where to you want to upload to" I don't see a choice for the September 2010 VPN... What do I select instead?

You're right, there isn't an AUG VSN spot.

You don't have to choose a category at all, if you don't want to. OR, if you are using an SU! stamp, you can choose the gallery for that stamp set.
