When I think of Summertime, my favorite memories are of going camping and fishing with my Dad. Now, we never caught very much, but we had a lot of fun doing it! We also camped in all sorts of environments, from the woods in Kentucky, to the canyons in Utah, to the Nevada Desert! Luckily, I married a man who also likes to camp, so this is one activity that we can do together. There's nothing like being trapped in the woods to stimulate some real conversation! LOL

My challenge to you is to make a card inspired by camping. Here's some ideas to get you started:

Nature - think of all the things you see out in the woods (or desert!)
Masculine colors - you rarely see a pink tent in the woods!

Twine - think tent lines, fishing line, clothes lines
Hardware - tent stakes and zippers, fishhooks and battered frying pans
Distressing - everything gets dirty when you camp, but that's half the fun when you're a kid!

Now, is anybody else in the mood for S'mores??

We were actually camping last weekend for four days, and can you believe that s'mores fixins were one of the few things we FORGOT?!? *sigh* We still had fun though, one of the fellas caught a 37" Northern Pike!

Oooo, I thought this one was going to be really hard, since I don't have ANY camping stamps. I went searching for an image I could use and came across a deer. Perfect! My card only took about 10 minutes. Here is my deer sighting.

Thanks for this challenge Rachel. I used Nature Silhouettes which had not yet seen ink. I kept looking for just the right inspiration to use them. I guess this was it. I figured people see a lot of wildlife while camping.
So now I'm 3 for 4 challenges. Not bad for me. This is my third VSN and, yes, I'm addicted!
I'll upload later and also browse the various galleries as I can already see there is a lot of talent here tonight.

Yay!! I did it... but I am a rookie too and don't know how to upload my card... will figure it out by Monday for sure. I can't believe I did it... this was my first time working under a time constraint. I won't be able to do any more tonight but I can't wait to play again tomorrow after work. This was way too much fun! Maybe I should just call in sick. haha... Have a fun night everybody!

No worries! It's easy peasy! Over at the left toward the top there's a link called "Upload a Card." Click on that and follow the directions to do the actual upload, and make sure you put AUG10VSND in the box where it asks for "Keywords." Then once your card is loaded, click on it to see your actual card. Copy the web address in the address bar at the top of your internet window, then just paste it into a reply on the thread.

You can also click on the "Advanced Reply" button at the bottom of the screen, and in there it will give you the option to add a link to some text (it looks like a little earth with an infinity sign in front of it).... like if you want to make the link look like this:

Loved doing this one. We used to camp in an airstream when I was little. So, It was fun to make the camper in this set look like the old silver airstream.
