Africa - Heart of Africa - by Scraperwannabe - Friday, Dec. 11 - 5 pm EST - DEC15VSNA
Challenge: The Heart of Africa
Hostess: Misti (Scraperwannabe)
Keyword: DEC15VSNA
Date: Friday Dec 11 @ 5pm EST
Muli bwanji? How are you? Are you ready to get this party started???? Grab your passport & a snack & come on!
Challenge Destination: I am giving you a little glimpse of Zambia, Africa. I spent a good chunk of my childhood there. It's nickname is the "Heart of Africa." There are so many awesome things about Zambia, but one that is super memorable is Victoria Falls. It's located on the border between Zambia & Zimbabwe. Dr. David Livingstone, is said to be the first European to see the Falls & named them in honor of Queen Victoria. I've included a picture for you to see the Falls & be inspired by them.

3. We have a special gallery for the 80 Days VSN.
a) From the "Main Gallery" dropdown list on the first page of the uploader, choose Events and Special Collections.
b) From the Sub-gallery dropdown list, choose Virtual Stamping and Scrapbooking Nights ~ it's the last in the list.
c) From the new sub-gallery dropdown list choose Around The World In 80 Days - it's the very top of the list.
4. Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
5. Please do not combine VSN challenges...but you may combine any other challenges with a VSN challenge!
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your layout is seen. THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING ALONG!!!
My first attempt is a major fail. Lesson learned ... one I should have known. Memento ink -- even when heat dried -- does not mix well with gelatos and water.

Oh yep! Done that too! Well similar anyway! Always such interesting lessons learned during challenges!!
Beautiful picture! I love The Amazing Race and they went here in this current season. They took a ride over the Falls.
I have a card done but I don't see this VSN's gallery to upload to.
As for finding inspiration from pictures and such, I have to admit I kind of get what hotwheels is saying. Sometimes the things that pop into my head that the picture inspired aren't obvious to others unless I explain them and so sometimes I am hesitant to make a card! But then I tell myself there is no right or wrong with this so dive in! I know I never question what others make based on a challenge.
I used Gelatos on my card, too! They blend so beautifully and I had colors similar to what was in the photo....they were the first things I thought of! Didn't know that about memento ink, though.
Yep, I'm still working on Christmas cards! Have them about ready to mail out but that might have to wait until next week, have to play this weekend!;) A CHILD IS BORN

That's exactly right!! You know the Boss Lady Lydia's motto: There is no wrong way to do a challenge!!!
Just have fun and whatever it is that inspired YOU is the perfect design!!
Susie, I am not able to see your card.
I get a message that says:
"Oops! It appears you don't have permission to view this photo. Are you logged in? If not, please try that. If you are, this might be an image in our Fan Club gallery. Click here to learn more about the Fan Club and join today!"
Oddly enough, I joined the fan club about a week ago and I'm able to see fan club posts. Any idea what I need to do to see the image?
Drat! Same thing happened when I tried to click on Gwen's link.
I have finished my card. I see there is some confusion about actually viewing the gallery. ( I get the Oops message too)
I found the category, the last one Dec Around in 80, but I couldn't upload.

Reason: wrong info
Hi Lisa, maybe for now just load it in your member gallery and use the challenge keyword, at least with the challenge keyword it should show up with all of the other cards in this challenge (I think).

Wonderful challenge, Misti! The Victoria Falls are awesome. If I ever go there, it is on the top of my "must see" list. Thanks for teaching us about this amazing place. Here's my card:
