Hi Everyone! It's Sankari here with this month's GET YOUR DIVA ON! Challenge! There is an amazing prize up for grabs for the winner of this challenge and so before we get started on this month's challenge - check out all the details of this challenge here:
Each month a different Diva will "host" a week long challenge. The challenge itself is up to the Diva hostessing, so you never know what it's going to be! Isn't that kind of exciting?!! The Get Your Diva On Challenge will start on the 2nd Monday of every month. Participants will have until the following Sunday night (September 18th) at 9 pm Mountain to enter. The winner will be announced Tuesday, September 20. We'd LOVE to see you use your Verve stamps, but if you don't have any, we'd still love to see your creations!!
The winner of the challenge (chosen by Julee) will get to be a Guest Diva in an upcoming release AND will receive all of the stamps/dies for that release for free! They will also get to play along with the Divas during the pre-release Spotlights as well as at the Release Party!! How's THAT for exciting?!!
September 2011 Challenge:Pick A Color! Any Color!! This month's challenge is to go Monochromatic! Pick a color scheme, or one color, or a set of neutrals and create a card with color scheme! This challenge is a hard one for me - as I love to use all kinds of color - all together - but it was fun to go color solo! And I can't wait to see which color scheme you pick!
If you're new to the gallery, here's a little info on how to add your card to our gallery: If you haven't uploaded your cards yet, just click the Upload a Card link in the left sidebar. Keep the default category as Member Galleries. Then follow the form to browse to the photo of your card on your computer, enter a title and description then click upload/submit. On the next screen it asks you for the ingredients of the card and also has a Keyword section. In this section type the keyword for this month's challenges... GYDOSept2011. When you're done filling things out, click process. It takes a few minutes to show up in our challenge gallery but as long as you've got the correct keyword, your photo will eventually appear in the GYDOSept2011 Gallery.
If you've already uploaded your card, you can edit the keywords by going to the photo in your gallery. In the bottom right corner under the information below the picture, there is an Edit Photo button. Click this, then in the Edit keywords section add the GYDOSept2011 keyword and then click process. These changes take about 10 minutes or so to appear, but then your card should appear in our challenge gallery.
Please make sure you use the keyword GYDOSept2011 when uploading so we can find your creations in one place.
Awesome challenge, Sankari! But I need to know if it's possible to make a monochromatic card. For that matter, is it possible to make a one layer card? These concepts are foreign to me.
Haha...I actually did attempt a "monochromatic" card with a few "infractions" of maroon accents thrown in, maroon is a neutral, right? Right?
Okay... late to check things out but, I have to say.... Sankari- I knew you would do bright and honestly {IMHO.... it's hard to do monochromatic but, bright... quite the challenge!!} Fabulous!!
Andrea, Maureen, and Tosh... fabulous!!

Andrea - that is hilarious! lololol!!! Love the way you did your awesome card girl!
Thank you so much Vickie! Can't wait to see your creation!
Shannan - I laughed so hard at your description of your monochromatic card - hahaha!!! love it!!!
I was a bit stumped and a little intimidated by this months GYDO but then the light went on and I had a blast. Ended up making 2 cards. Same sketch, same colors, but I took the 2nd one up a notch or 2. Will post as soon as I take photos. Thanks for this challenge Sankari.

Julee - that green is just calling my name! I now want to dance on rolling green hills like Maria in the Sound of Music!!! So beautiful! Love all the details and pure joy of your card!
So beautiful Holly - love the blues in your card - perfect for this challenge! So winter wonderful!! Thanks for playing along with us - hope you had fun!
I knew I shouldn't have looked...I know better than to look at what's already in the gallery...but I did it anyways...now I'm in awe of what is there and know that nothing I create will be at that level of amazing!
Why can't more of you do clean and simple instead of layered, fussy and FAN-TABULOUS??????! LOL...Clean and simple styles like mine, always get blown out of the water! Dang--you gals are good!

I'm now officially intimidated!
Actually, you would be surprised what a struggle it is for those of us who layer-it-up to make clean and simple cards. So, I take my hat off to you for being able to master that style and I look forward to your creation.
Wow, everyone is really rockin' the monochromatic creations! Here's my FEELING THE BLUES card.

I layer it up and then my brain always starts going "warning warning card overload card overload-warning warning".
But then I also don't have all the supplies that so many of you have access too--I'm so envious! I have such a teeny tiny budget for anything papercrafting...My wish list is a MILE long! Thank goodness I have won as many Verve contests as I have! LOL! I wish I could just "charge it!" whenever a new release comes out! How nice that would be!!!
Of course I can make embellies...but that intimidates me too! LOL!
Which is why I just stick with CAS...and drool at everything else!

I can't agree with you more Jennipher! It is so difficult for me to do CAS cards. One time it took me almost 3 hours before I was satisfied. I re-made that poor card up more times than I could count! LOL
I added my Thought of You card to the gallery last night, but it doesn't show up in the GYDOSept2011 gallery. I know I have the right keywords, cause when I click on them it redirects me to the GYDOSept2011 gallery. Odd, right?
Anyways...
This is my first MONOCHROMATIC card, so I went with NEUTRALS ONLY. For more pictures and info, please visit my blog - ScrappinCookie.
