Get Your Diva On Challenge - March 2011 (3-14-2011)
Hello Stampers!! Tosh here. It's time for another Get Your Diva On Challenge!! Did you participate in the Inspiration Challenge Charmaine put on last month? I hope so, but whether you were able to or not, I hope you can join us this month!! Here are the deets:
The Details
Each month a different Diva will "host" a week long challenge. The challenge itself is up to the Diva hostessing, so you never know what it's going to be! Isn't that kind of exciting?!! The Get Your Diva On Challenge will start on the 2nd Monday of every month. Participants will have until the following Sunday night (March 20) at 9 pm Mountain to enter. The winner will be announced Tuesday, March 22. We'd LOVE to see your Verve stamps, but if you don't have any, we'd still love to see your creations!!
The winner of the challenge (chosen by Julee) will get to be aGuest Divain an upcoming release AND will receive all of the stamps/dies for that release for free! They will also get to play along with the Divas during the pre-release Spotlights as well as at the Release Party!! How's THAT for exciting?!!
So, are you ready to play? Since many of us have been counting down the days until Spring, I thought it would be a perfect time for a color challenge. Everything is coming back to life. No more brown grass, or bare trees. Color is emerging. So, lets go "au naturale" Use all neutrals: white, ivory, gray, black, or brown, with a splash of color to represent the arrival of Spring.
Please make sure you use the keyword GYDOMar142011 when uploading so we can find your creations in one place. I can't wait to see all your "au naturale" creations!! I've included a sample I made below, along with one made by the fabulously talented divas Moe and Teresa.
And if you're new to the gallery, here's a little info on how to add your card to our gallery:
If you haven't uploaded your cards yet, just click the Upload a Card link in the left sidebar. Keep the default category as Member Galleries. Then follow the form to browse to the photo of your card on your computer, enter a title and description then click upload/submit. On the next screen it asks you for the ingredients of the card and also has a Keyword section. In this section type the keyword for this month's challenges... GYDOMar142011. When you're done filling things out, click process. It takes a few minutes to show up in our challenge gallery but as long as you've got the correct keyword, your photo will eventually appear in the GYDOMar142011 Gallery.
If you've already uploaded your card, you can edit the keywords by going to the photo in your gallery. In the bottom right corner under the information below the picture, there is an Edit Photo button. Click this, then in the Edit keywords section add the GYDOMar142011 keyword and then click process. These changes take about 10 minutes or so to appear, but then your card should appear in our challenge gallery.
This is so very exciting! I'm plotting as I sit here at work away from my stamps!
Card dreaming can be very distracting eh Toni? I'll be gazing out the window while in the car (not driving of course), and my daughter will say..."thinking about another card, aren't ya mom?" I get caught often....lol Can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Here is my card for the Get Your Diva On challenge.
Loved working with the neutrals....I don't often use Very Vanilla and Whisper White together but I do love how it turns out so elegant!! Thanks for this great challenge!!

Re-reading the directions to make sure I understand the color requirement. I hope I don't have too much color in mine! It's in pieces on my desk at home, I should be able to put it together and photograph it tonight!

No buzzer will be sounded from me Toni!! The challenge is just supposed to inspire. Go with where it takes you. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Tosh, this was a challenge to me to use all neutrals and only a splash of color. It was great though to work out of my comfort zone and get with the Spring theme. Thanks..insert smack on forehead...I needed that!!!!!
Here's my Spring Beauty
The tiny sentiment is from one of the stamps in 'Feel the Sun'. Used my LL marker to 'paint' the one word and then stamped.

You should step out of your comfort zone more often Joanne!! Your purple/kraft card is fabulous!! I adore all your sweet little details!!
Thought I'd try this month. Thanks for the fun challenge. I have to say, it WAS challenging not using more color.
I paired this challenge with the VLV week 4 sketch.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Great challenge Tosh! I've finally gotten my card posted and I loved working with neutrals and just a splash of color. To me, that combination is always striking! Here's my Get Your Diva On challenge card:
