Was the "Walker" that got Dale the same one that Carl had the "close call" with? BTW a part of me was hoping Carl would have gotten stuck in the mud. (I know I can be mean sometimes)
You bet it was!! The look on Carl's face when he saw who it was said it all. This is going to be a turning point for them all. I think it is sinking in for everyone that life as they knew it is gone!
Like someone else said I really like how they are delving in to the hard moral issues.
ok, without trying to give anything away for those who missed it, do you wonder how the close call for Carl will play out? if it is airborne could he be in danger of turning???
I think Carl is trouble. He seems to be turning into quite a little brat, when I don't remember being him that way before.
I think I read somewhere that in the graphic novels, Carl killed Shane but I don't know why or how, and that Shane was killed off earlier in the novels. Has anyone read any of those? I read part of the first one online and didn't really care for it, I guess because I already had ideas about the characters, but the little bit I read followed along with the very first show in the series.
I think Carl's issues will stem (aside from living in a zombie world) from wanting to be like his dad but also admiring Shane and wanting to be like him. He's torn.
Don't get to watch until I get home from work tonight! I'm so excited. Am I just a wimp or does it take some of you a while to watch the show? It's like a train wreak, I'm drawn to it but afraid to look sometimes, have to draw up my courage to watch.........LOL
i wanna know where they all came from too, and where were they all along???
and, i wanna know how they are turning when they havent been bitten?????
also, dont you think the group (i didnt realize there are 14) should have been doing more prep stuff? like finding more food for the winter and boarding up the house etc etc? i dunno, if it were me i would be worried about supplies and stuff, seems like they've been sitting on their butts a lil too much............arguing instead of preparing......
maybe its just me!

i havent read any, but DS read a few. and instead of bunkering down on the farm, i think in the books they hole up in a prison. there were other things too, about who pairs up together, but i cant remember!

My guess is that's what the CDC guy told Rick -- that the virus is airborne and that everyone or some people are already infected by it (without being bit)
I will miss Shane. He was a loose cannon toward the end there but he did what had to be done in the most ugly situations.
I also think that he was on the edge and after Lori telling him she didn't know whose baby it really was and how she had feelings for him too, was the final push.
Great episode!! It was quite shocking and really awesome!
I knew that they would have to write Shane out at some point. One of the main producers/writers of the show left before this season (or was asked to leave or whatever the deal was) and apparently is doing a new show and rumor was that he asked "Shane" to star in it. So Shane had to go at some point. How they did it was really good tho. Instead of just running off, he went out like he should have....a big showdown with him and Rick and with Rick being forced to off him.
Not sure where it's going to go from here tho...Shane was the person you loved to hate. =)
I know, the whole Carl thing was beginning to p!$$ me off....I wanted to spank him but then you kind of understood how awful life was for him so it made a good story conflict. I think Lori is now the one who is starting to bug me, with the whole "I love you...wait, I never did...oh wait, yes I did" thing. But I guess thats the point of the show...we root for someone one minute, then want them to get eaten by walkers the next....LOL
It does appear that the virus is airborne or in the water or something. Since people are turning into walkers without being bitten, we can assume that everyone is or can be exposed to it and that they are carrying it in their systems and when they die, they come back to life as a zombie. Love that idea and it should make for some interesting episodes. Wonder if we will see a return of Otis?!

oh yes, that was a very cruel thing for Lori to do, she is a user, and another reason i dont like her!

Hello! I just saw this thread and am joining in too! I stopped watching for a while then caught up. And am I glad I did. Last night's episode was really over the top. I watched it twice and I too watched the Talking Dead for the first time and it explained a lot. I went on line too to read a recap of the comic and that explained a lot too. The show 'sort of' follows the comic but things happen to different people it seems (like when they die and stuff) and who they meet or when they meet them. But it gave some insight that I think I needed.
I guess from watching two seasons of this show is don't get too attached to anyone! But I like that in a show - otherwise it becomes way too predictable.
What's up with that helicopter leading the WD out of Atlanta? Are they going to try to take back the city? And the helicopter makes you think there is still a "military" presence.
not sure about the helo, but the Talking Dead did mention that the new season would have a helo in it at some point, but didnt say why or any details.......leaves us hanging!
Sunday nites sure are boring now, LOL.................

sorry ya'll... i stopped reading the posts a couple pages back because for 1 i am a NEW Walking Dead fan and im not ready for spoilers .. my husband has been desperately begging me to watch this show with him since the very beginning and i declined ..not a HUGE fan of the scary stuff... but finally we saw the 1st season was on netflix and so we recorded season 2 on the DVR.. I just watched the 1st episode of season 2 last night and cant wait to watch the rest..im just glad there are other people (girls!) out there who like this show..i cant get my family to watch it to save my life lol
I just got an e-mail for the "Steel City Con" (I'm in Pittsburgh, PA) in July. It announced it's most recent guest signed on to appear...... Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes). I may have to go.

This is awesome!! I just saw a t-shirt on a website that says "Stay in the D@3* house, Carl!!" ha ha...of course it says the real word, I just figured we can't say that on here. =) It was awesome. You just KNOW someone there will shout something like that out to him at this convention. We were ALL thinking it that episode.
Living in metro Atlanta,I have enjoyed the location shots with a wee bit of mumbling when the places are not where they say they are....LOL That is the trouble with knowing the area.
I was up to midnight last night and right back at it this morning.
I am LOVING being able to breeze right through the episodes.
There was a helicopter when Rick first came into the city, remember? He heard it and saw the reflection in the building.
Someone(the CDC guy maybe)told him he was "seeing things" and there was not one?
Makes you wonder if the CDC does have something to burn it up IF they were every taken over.
I am of the opinion they have some very NASTY stuff there. Loved(in a scary way)that the guy mentioned smallpox was one thing they had. I have always thought they really did.

I believe it comes back in October!! I guess we'll have to watch reruns until then.
Great show last night. Amazing first half hour.
I'm wondering why there aren't children zombies (except Sophia, of course)
We haven't seen many, but there was one little girl at the very beginning when they were showing Rick going to look for gas & he asks her if she needs help, then she turns around.... Maybe they're harder to get to sit for makeup or something.... As for elderly, I'm not sure with the decomposition of their facial features, hair etc. we could tell if they were young or older adults...

The graphic novel is interesting. We've watched the Talking Dead from the beginning and they had the author on it and he's a writer for the show & they purposefully DON'T follow the graphic novel b/c then those who read it would know everything ahead of time. They want everyone to be surprised.
And, just like living in a zombie apocalypse, you never know who's gonna die next....
Debbie I didn't know you watched this show! I just finished S2 and I'm addicted...never thought I'd like a show about zombies, lol!
Granny, yes, same here when they opened that barn door...was so surprised! Can't believe I didn't even think that was a possibility. Now Dish doesn't have AMC. GRRR
this season is the best!!!! They really reworked the show. I'm finding that I don't hate Lori and Carl this season like I did. Although I wouldn't lose any sleep if they got eaten. I HEART Daryl.
