QotM:

What for dinner tonight? What are your options?

I have a choice of either green chili chicken enchiladas or stuff green peppers. I have ingredients for both.

OMG, I almost died during True Blood on Sunday when Alcide was hugging Sookie goodbye and he sniffed her neck. I got shivers from that sexual tension!

Even if you can, don't do it. It's a terrible trap.

I did a loan once, many years ago when they first started to allow it. It took forever to pay back. I'm still PO'd about all the interested that I never earned on that money.

Same thing as last night and the night before. Taco style lentils and brown rice. This is the last of them and then tomorrow night I get to have something different at book club.

I don't know. I have few options open to me.
I'd like to go out but I doubt I can convince either of the cute blondes to go out.

At my cousin's BBQ a few weeks ago we were talking about our Top 5 and I said Alcide is far and away my number one. My totally straight male cousin, Roy, is a big TB fan and said "hell, Alcide might even be my number one! That is one good looking man!"

LOL, isn't that funny...I feel exactly the opposite. Of course it cut our payments in half, I know exactly when it will be paid off and we had some OUTRAGEOUS interest amounts we were paying...

I don't know if I will actually do it, but I would like to try a new recipe a week. I think maybe I should modify my goal and go with 2x a month. Just to be real.

Tonight is a new idea. I've never made green chili enchiladas. I spotted this sauce at Winco in June and grabbed it. (Since then I found it at my regular store )

I have some precooked cubed chicken breasts in the freezer. I picked up some mexican cheese and corn tortillas. I'm going to to dip the tortillas in the sauce and roll the cheese and chicken inside. The cover with more sauce and cheese and bake. I'm not sure how long, I guess I will just watch it until it's bubbly.

I think 2x a month sounds reasonable. This recipe sounds really good!

That's what I was just going to say. I need some sort of recipe database. I've got binders of recipes I've made and loved, but those aren't always handy when I'm trying to decide on dinner.

And for new recipes, I've got binders of ones I want to try, plus cookbooks with pages marked, plus tons starred in Google Reader. There just aren't enough days and not enough money in my bank account to make everything I want to!

I'm going to have to make a binder of recipes I want to try. I have lots marked in Google too but sorting through them on there sometimes sucks.

Either one sounds good to me! I think there are some good shows starting. I definitely want to check out the new JJ Abrams show The Undercovers.

I have two binders, sorted by category. One has appetizers, salads, soups, side dishes, chicken/turkey, beef, pork, seafood, and meatless entrees.

The other has cupcakes, cookies, cakes, brownies & bars, candy, and breads.

Do you tag items in your google reader? Whenever there's a food blog post I want to save, I tag it with one of the categories that I have in my binders. That way if I know I want a meatless entree or am looking for a side dish, I can go right to that category. I still have to sort through them then, but it does make it easier.

Yummy! I don't know if I have ever had satimbucco. I will have to look that up. Is it hard to make?

I need to make a list of all the recipes I love b/c I keep forgetting about some of them. I haven't made strogonoff in forever...and my chicken enchilada recipe is fantizmo! and I haven't made it in forever either. I think your green chili recipe rocks!
I think I could do the chicken satimbocco after looking at the recipe. I wonder, does it require the white wine to be authentic?

With most recipes that call for wine you can use chicken stock instead. The flavor will be slightly different, but it works.

I think I've made it w/ cooking wine but that tends to have a lot of sodium.
If you don't cook w/ wine often you can buy the little 8oz bottles that come in a 4 pack to have on hand for when you do need it.

Those screw on caps last a while

Do you tag items in your google reader? Whenever there's a food blog post I want to save, I tag it with one of the categories that I have in my binders. That way if I know I want a meatless entree or am looking for a side dish, I can go right to that category. I still have to sort through them then, but it does make it easier.
I haven't ever done that, I should start it would make it much easier!
