The Walking Dead on AMC...anyone watching?

I {heart} zombies and have been eagerly awaiting this show on AMC! I actually think its just a mini show, right? Like 6 episodes?

Anyway...Loved it! Did anyone else watch it and love it?

StamperCathy 11-17-2010 09:54 AM

I have been watching. Love it. It's 6 shows this year with a second season of 12 shows. Can't wait till Sunday.

kspiv 11-19-2010 12:35 PM

Glad I am not the only one Cathy! I think its great! Glad to hear that it will be back. I think it was based on a graphic novel or something of the sort if I remember right so didnt know if they would keep going with it. Its starting to get really good!

StampinByDiane 12-07-2010 06:31 AM

I'm a fan too you guys! But I guess there are many of us!!! LOL

I thought it was excellent last night left it all open for the next season. Kind of a hopeless feeling like there might be no good answers!

Do either of you know when the second series is supposed to start?

kspiv 12-20-2010 08:54 AM

I dont. I think it was a "wait and see" thing to see if they got enough viewers to bother. And apparently they did! I know that the actual story is a series of graphic novels (or comics) that were a set of 6. I didnt read them or anything so I dont know how it ended or what happened but they definitely left this open to come back so thats good! Altho I want MORE ZOMBIES next season! =)

StampinByDiane 12-29-2010 12:46 PM

Just read this, thought you guys might be interested.

"7. A full season of 'The Walking Dead.' AMC had a great year, thanks to award-winning shows like 'Mad Men' and 'Breaking Bad,' as well as the great-but-sadly-canceled 'Rubicon.' But no show got viewers as excited (or grossed out) as zombie drama 'The Walking Dead,' which earned record ratings for the cable network. But due to AMC's haste to get the series out by Halloween, the first season was just six episodes. And as good as that little taste of zombie was, we want more (brains) and can't wait for a full 13-episode season 2. - KW"

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! Is Season 2 still not happening until OCTOBER?

Consuelo 01-12-2011 06:24 PM

I found my own answer! They moved up Season 2 to JULY!!!!

I'm so happy about this, except I hope I move and am settled before it happens.

StamperCathy 10-08-2011 04:29 AM

StampinByDiane 10-08-2011 04:42 AM

Me, absolutely can not wait...........but guess I will have too!! LOL

DLS881 10-12-2011 11:29 AM

Its been a long wait!

kspiv 10-24-2011 07:50 AM

The first 2 episodes have been great! Last weeks ending I literally gasped! So glad its back on.

StampinByDiane 10-24-2011 08:22 AM

Kelly I totally agree!!! What happened at the end of eposide one caught me COMPLETELY off guard. I haven't been this addicted to a show in a really long time.

PS...I love the intros into the "before" stories we are getting they connect the dots so to speak.

Greg T 10-25-2011 12:11 PM

A friend of mine always talked about the show last season. (I think I saw maybe 1/2 of the 1st show) Then last Sunday there was a marathon on of the first season. I watched the first 2 1/2 episodes and then started watching something else. I caught the last 1/2 hour of the last season 1 episode. Then started watching season 2. Now I'm hooked. But I am getting bored with the "Lost Sophia (the little girl)" story.

kspiv 10-26-2011 08:59 AM

I so agree about being sick of the lost girls story line. I was really hoping they were going to wrap that up by finding her by the end of Sunday's episode. Didn't happen.

And I like seeing some of the back story too that we have been getting....
Question for you all who watch....
I live in IL....in the Chicago Tribune newspaper they had a quick Q&A with the actress who plays Lori (the wife of Rick, the sherrif). The interviewer asks her if she and Shane were having an affair before the zombie thing.....
She acted very surprised by the question and said that was the first time anyone has thought of that or asked her that. Well heck, I was thinking that right after they went into the tent together during the first season....I said "oohh, I wonder if this was going on before the zombie apocolypse!?" Did anyone else think maybe that was a possibility or is this writer and myself just so jaded that we thought that? LOL

Greg T 10-26-2011 09:22 AM

This may be a stupid question for those who have been watching from the beginning. Have they ever explained how and where the epidemic started? I just watched some "webisodes" that showed the back story on the crawling 1/2 woman from the first season. I think it will be shown in the next episode on Oct 30. Pretty interesting. Hopefully the Sophia story wraps up this episode. They may lose me if not.

Not that I have ever seen...and I've watched from the beginning. But memory is for cr@p so maybe they did and I missed it or forgot it. I could go back and watch season 1 and be like "oh yeah! I didnt remember that!" LOL

kspiv 10-31-2011 06:48 AM

Oh jeez...still no Sophia! Find that girl already!
And I was again, totally shocked by the ending of last nights episode. I wont spoil it for those that DVR, but WOW!

DLS881 10-31-2011 07:30 AM

Good ending last night. I never suspected it.

needmorestamps 10-31-2011 11:49 AM

I love this show! last night was the best show this season. Just when I was starting to sympathize with Shane, this happened. I'm also getting tired of the lost girl arc. It looks like the next episode will be focused on that though.

kspiv 11-08-2011 12:20 PM

Still no Sophia.....sigh.....

At least Glen got some! =)

StampinByDiane 11-08-2011 12:39 PM

Okay a couple of things that really have me thinking:

- What was the look between the old Vet and his daughter???
- What about that house that Darrell found, much more than meets the eye there I'm sure. If nothing else someone that eats food instead of people was there recently.
- Now that we think/know that Lori is preggers, do we think that is what Jenner told Rick or was what Jenner told him something else??
- Does the house Darrell found have something to do with Sophia? I kind of think it does.
- Why does the old man want to get rid of them so badly, he's hiding something not sure what. I kind of think they are hiding a friend/family member who is "dead"

Okay what ideas/questions do you guys have???

craftyteaspoon 11-09-2011 05:35 AM

I haven't watched the most recent episode yet, but here are my thoughts.

1. haven't seen it so I don't know yet
2. same answer
3. Yes, I think the guy at the CDC told Rick that his wife is preggers and that maybe the baby hold a cure?? Why he hasn't mentioned it to her I'm not sure.
4. don't know yet
5. I have been wondering how this family has managed to have a generator (I assume that is where they get power) and food with no visible signs of defense against the Zombies. They are walking around and making noise and the zombies haven't showed up? We know they are out in the woods, why not by this house?

I enjoy all zombie movies so I was so happy to see this show. :)

Greg T 11-09-2011 01:04 PM

The 2 parts that I liked about the latest episode were when Glen (I guess that's his name) and the girl (don't know her name) were in the store. And when the whole thing with the well. I thought it was so funny how after all their work, the guy ripped and fell back in. And the one guy (can't remember who) said "Sure glad we didn't just shoot it."

needmorestamps 11-09-2011 03:52 PM

Ok, my theory is that Hershel didn't want them going anywhere near the barn because they have zombies in it. Given that he's a very religious man, I can see why he wouldn't shoot them but just lock them up in the hope of finding a cure.

My second thought is that they knew there was a zombie in that well. It looks like it was there for a rather long time and how could they not have seen or heard it before then? Makes me think that is why they sent the group over to that particular well to get water.

My 3rd thought is that the girl wanted to get with Glen to get pregnant.

My final thought is that Lori is pregnant with Shane's baby. Based on the timing of the whole thing, it seems more likely.

DLS881 11-13-2011 06:01 PM

Good show tonight!

StampinByDiane 11-14-2011 09:09 AM

Not got to see it yet. I watch it on Amazon the day of it shows. So tonights the showing night for me! Can't wait. LOL

sempermom 11-14-2011 03:29 PM

i knew hershel was hiding something!!! i wonder if Sophia is closer than they think......i dont wanna say too much for those who missed last nites epi.......... as in she is part of hershels "secret"?
oh why cant these shows come on twice a week? i hate suspense LOL.........

MadgeRPh 11-15-2011 05:52 AM

Thanks for your reviews ladies! I have heard great things about this show and planned to watch it On Demand so I can catch up and be ready when Season 2 begins.

I dropped the ball on Breaking bad by never watching it and now it's too far in for me to catch up. (I just don't have the time to do it) so I will NOT make the same mistake with Walking Dead.

Did not think of that! How come no one heard the "secret" before? How come they only started rattling the door after they were seen- wouldn't they get all worked up when Glen first approached the door? Suddenly they can't smell fresh meat?

sempermom 11-16-2011 11:36 AM

i know, right?! you would think they would have heard them when they were using the well! and, how come none of them have climbed the ladder into the loft Glen was in and escape????

not a stupid question at all!

no, i dont think they have shown how it started, but lately they have been showing "flashbacks" during the episodes. which, can get confusing!

this weeks fb showed how they met in the traffic jam on the highway.

i wish they woulda just had a "begining" in the first place, LOL

It's a 1985 Pontiac Fiero. I bought it new in April of '85. I only drive it for shows now. It sits in the garage under a cover most of the time.

sempermom 11-16-2011 12:18 PM

cool!
in the avatar it looks close to DS's '87 300z......

sempermom 11-21-2011 02:15 PM

well, STILL no Sophia! sheesh!

and next wk is the midseason finale already!!

any one else feel sorry for that poor chicken and its leg?? OMG! how cruel!

and why do they keep making little trips to that pharmacy? if it were me, i would grab up as much as i could, just so we had it all on hand, and no one had to risk another trip. maybe a lil selfish, but, well under the circumstances, who wouldnt be selfish?

lets hope next week doesnt leave us hanging on about Soph!

kspiv 11-22-2011 07:29 AM

Yeah, the Sophia story line has played out!!

But the rest of the storyline this week was good. I enjoyed the show this week since it wasnt ALL about finding Sophia and there was enough interesting things going on while they were searching.

I really hope they find her next week since, as someone mentioned, its the mid season break!

StamperCathy 11-28-2011 05:06 AM

Do you think someone could have mentioned, sofia's a walker in the barn. Now ya'll can leave!
