02/26/2013 DWTS - Season 16

Here's the Season 16 cast:

Wynonna Judd, five-time Grammy-winning country star (with Tony Dovolani)

D.L. Hughley, comedian and actor (with Cheryl Burke)

Jacoby Jones, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver (with Karina Smirnoff)

Lisa Vanderpump, star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and "Vanderpump Rules" (with Gleb Savchenko)

Andy Dick, actor and comedian (with Sharna Burgess)

Victor Ortiz, former WBC Welterweight Champion (with "So You Think You Can Dance" finalist Lindsay Arnold)

Zendaya Coleman, Disney Channel star (with Val Chmerkovskiy)

Aly Raisman, Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics (with Mark Ballas)

Ingo Rademacher, "General Hospital" star (with Kym Johnson)

Kellie Pickler, country music star and former "American Idol" contestant (with Derek Hough)

Dorothy Hamill, Olympic gold medalist in figure skating (with Tristan MacManus)

I feel bad for Tony. At least he won last season.

I've only been watching this show since season 8 or 9, but I have to say that I recognized more names this time around than any other non all-star season. Looks like an interesting lineup, but I do feel sad that Maks won't be there. Nice to see Derek's name, and I really hope Tristan is able to go further this time around.

As for the celebrities, I'll save my judgement until I watch an episode or two.

mouseprints 02-26-2013 10:57 AM

I was surprised to see Derek. I heard he was leaving the show and was finally going to get surgery on his neck injury.

I guess not.

I will certainly be missing some of my favorite professional dancers. My guess is they through a bunch of money to Derrek to stay one more year. While I recognize the names I certainly would not call them 'stars'. It must be difficult to get people on the show.

Jean L 02-27-2013 07:46 AM

I love Ingo as I am a big GH fan. I will watch and root him along. As for the others, I'll watch and see how they all do. Except for Andy D, I cannot stand him. I don't think he'll get further than the first week. I hope not, especially with his potty mouth.

Lazorkay 02-27-2013 07:52 AM

Kelly and Aly with Derek and Mark

No surprise there. Can't put those guys with Wynonna

Will just have to see what happens

Cynamom 03-06-2013 05:40 AM

I am not sure if I am going to watch or not, likely will tape it and then see how I feel, do a lot of fast forwarding. I have come to really like The Voice a lot so I will probably go over to that... too many bogus stars and stars I don't like.

Lazorkay 03-12-2013 05:34 AM

Maybe this show should be renamed to "Dancing with Reality Stars" or

"Dancing with Those That Were Stars" :)

Better yet - how about they do a "Dancing with Athlete Stars"?

Can anyone tell that the "spring forward" time change has gotten to me? LOL

jkstieber 03-12-2013 07:26 AM

I wonder how doing DWTS will affect Sean Lowe's relationship with Catherine. He won't exactly be available for her very much. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do, though. Football players seem to do pretty well on that show.

Lazorkay 03-12-2013 07:46 AM

I don't see a Sean Lowe or a Catherine up in the list.

Am I missing something?

Sean Lowe is the last Bachelor and Catherine is his fiance. He announced on Good Morning America that he will be competing on DWTS this season. He'll be paired with Peta Murgatroyd. ABC wanted to keep this secret until all the episodes of the Bachelor had aired.

Lazorkay 03-13-2013 03:54 AM

AHHH. thanks

jkstieber 03-13-2013 12:21 PM

Karen, this is totally off topic, but I just noticed your signature line - 5 cats and 1 dog. All I can say is wow - my two cats completely wear me down sometimes. However, they're still pretty young, not even a year old yet. Sometimes I joke that I have four teenagers in the house, two human ones and two furry ones. I do think if I lived all by myself I'd have ten cats!

Lazorkay 03-13-2013 12:24 PM

:) Let me say this - I HATE CLEANING LITTER BOXES. LOL

2 of my kitties are boys and LOVE my little dogger Toby. They often curl up together.

Then, the boys have their girl and the oldest is a girl and she doesn't want anything to do with any of them!

Cynamom 03-14-2013 08:04 AM

LOL about the cat comments above. I am highly allergic so can't even get near one, but I have seen videos of them using the toilet! How great would that be? :)

maxiesmom 03-17-2013 05:23 PM

Also pretty unimpressed with the lineup this time around. I think I could actually pass on this round. Really don't care for Kellie Pickler, but I know my mom will be voting for Derek!

Lazorkay 03-19-2013 05:51 AM

I have only seen the boxer and then Ingo. Only the pre-show is showing up online to watch it.

jkstieber 03-19-2013 11:21 AM

To be honest, I was bored out of my mind last night. Only one of the dancers really impressed me, the young Disney star, but I did miss the two Olympians, Dorothy Hammill and the gymnist, forget her name. But all the others were just blah. I also thought that the judges, Len in particular, we're being a bit picky last night. But hopefully next week some of them will have improved and be a little more impressive. Otherwise, I may be passing this season.

Lazorkay 03-19-2013 12:45 PM

well, I finally watched the whole thing.

Zendaya was the best. I also liked Kelli and Dorothy.

with as good as Shawn Johnson was, Aly is NOT.

They guys - Ingo. Andy Dick was ok - he was much better than I thgouht he would be.

DL is HORRIBLE! then Sean - blech

We will just have to see.

Wynonna wasn't that good - well she was from her knees up. If you didn't have to watch her legs/feet, she was good.

jkstieber 03-19-2013 03:00 PM

I'm really hoping that Sean and Jacoby improve as the season goes further, I was disappointed in their performances last night. D.L. was actually painful to watch, and given that his partner is Cheryl Burke, I think that he just plain can't dance.

Wynonna did better than I thought she would, but I had very low expectations of her.

gr8cards 03-19-2013 04:05 PM

It was hard to watch........

Lazorkay 03-26-2013 05:39 AM

The only dance I saw last night was Dorothy's. It was sad.

jkstieber 03-26-2013 08:00 AM

I agree, she's injured and it doesn't look too good. I was really hoping that Tristan would have a partner that would stick around for a while this time.

My opinion (which means nothing when it comes to this show) is that D.L. Hughley or Wynonna should go first.

Lazorkay 03-26-2013 10:59 AM

I finally have seen the whole show.

My top 4 - Zen, Jacoby, Kellie, Ingo.

D.L. did so much better than Wy I think. She was just so s l o w. I am hoping she goes home.

Aly doesn't do anything for me and she gets great scores.....

Lisa - eh.

Agree Wy needs to go. No personality and STIFF and slow.

Lovin' Jacoby.

Not sure how I feel about Zen yet. Thinking there is a lot of past training there.

DL did improve. Hoping he gets another week but needs and attitude change.

Not liking Aly or Lisa at all.

I like Kellie.

parknslide 03-26-2013 01:01 PM

Loved Kellie and surprisingly Andy. Not sure why the judges like Aly so much? Her costumes have been very unflattering and rather matronly for a young girl.

lovetostamp3 03-26-2013 01:08 PM

Of the ladies, I think Zendaya and Kellie are the best!! I had high hopes for Dorothy, just because I love ice skating and she was one of my favorites, but last night didn't go too well for her.

I agree with some of the other comments that Wynonna is too slow (and I like Country), Lisa's not bringing it, and Ali just doesn't do it for me either for some reason, can't put my finger on it.

With the men, Jacoby is good, Ingo is funny, humble and tries hard, and Andy shocked the daylights out of me with his improvement - I find myself rooting for him to do well!! Sean looks so awkward to me, Victor tries hard, so he may be around a few more weeks, and DL's attitude surprised me as to how negative he was. He may get his wish and be watching the show from his couch!

Lazorkay 03-27-2013 03:52 AM

Was sorry to see that Dorothy went due to Dr. orders.

I can't believe I forgot Andy! His dance was priceless and reminded me of.. oh - he was with the red head - can't believe I can't remember her name LOL Carson Daily - sp - that was him - he was greatness at entertaining.

I thought it was so cute that Zen was like - heels? I have to dance in heels? She did
had to learn...

Granny Hawkins 03-27-2013 02:11 PM

I figured,as soon as they said they had an announcement,it would be Dorothy.

I wonder if Wy is shy IRL? She was standing on the side and not stepping forward when everyone went to talk to Dorothy.

Lazorkay 04-02-2013 09:37 AM

I'm thinking that Wy should be going home tonight!

I agree, either she'll be voted off or D.L. will be going. Sadly, neither of them are keeping up with the others score wise....

gale 04-02-2013 10:46 AM

I thought I wanted Andy gone first, since he's so annoying any time I've seen him in anything. But he isn't the most annoying here. I think Wynonna and DL are the worst dancers by far and hopefully one of them will be going tonight. But that Jacoby is hard for me to watch-he is SO annoying to me.

jkstieber 04-02-2013 07:17 PM

I am so glad someone feels the same way about Jacoby that I do. I've almost always rooted for the football players in past seasons, but I just do not care for him at all. It seems like he has a huge ego, or something.

At this point, I really don't know who I'm behind. Kellie and Zendaya seem to be the best dancers, but I just am not enthusiastic about anyone this year. They have a lot of mediocre dancers this year, and I hope some of them show some drastic improvement soon. Otherwise I'm going to lose interest fast. Though I do have to say I am enjoying Ingo a lot.

princessdi69 04-03-2013 06:28 AM

No surprise with last night's castoff... It was painful to watch her dance

Granny Hawkins 04-09-2013 08:20 AM

2 of the grandkids are here so I just watched Zen on Disney Channel. I am offically NOT rooting for her.

I know others have had training but she is waaay too good for others to compete against.

JMO. :)

I also do not like gymnastic(more than regular dance) moves in the dancing.

gale 04-09-2013 09:10 AM

I'm rooting for Kellie. Partly because Derek is my favorite pro that's competing this season and partly because I've always liked Kellie ever since she was on AI.

I like Kellie. I loved her "story" last night.

Lazorkay 04-09-2013 09:30 AM

I liked Jocaby's solo, Aly was better this week, but her feet are terrible. where are her pointed toes? Andy was so good. I didn't like the boxer at all. Ingo was good.
Zen was ok, Sean was much better, Lisa - maybe she will go home this week.
I agree with the judges - Kellie was good, but not as good as last week - just my opinion :)

Not liking the boxer either.
Andy is trying so hard. I want him to hang on a bit longer.
Hoping Lisa goes home.

Did anyone else notice how HAPPY Wy looked sitting in the audience? Much happier than she ever looked dancing.

lovetostamp3 04-09-2013 10:47 AM

I enjoyed last nights stories as well, they were all so touching. And, Andy's dance reflected that so well, he's come a long way. He's not the best dancer, not my favorite to win, but he's won my heart with his attitude to try and improve. He's had so much adversity with addiction, and having lost a family member to addiction, I know what a rough road that is, he's done well. I think maybe it'll be Lisa, Victor or DL this week.

I love how Kellie and Zendaya dance. I know some may feel they are too good, however the show is not called Dancing with the Stars that Can't Dance. They pick a variety of people and personalities (and I try to be objective when watching-which can be hard).

When people get into show business or sports, etc, some already have talent or they take lessons to get parts, so why begrudge them that little bit. They obviously aren't "professional" dancers, so they still need to get the votes. And as shown here on prior postings, some people don't even vote for the "Stars", they vote for their favorite "Pros", so doesn't it even out, because who could compete when the pros????

I think it takes a lot of guts for anyone who isn't a professional dancer to get out there and attempt to dance on TV, don't think I would want to do it week in and week out..... just my opinion as well..... :)
