Kristina's Write up!
Thanks so much, Darcy! This is so awesome, especially sense I just
discovered SCS recently and have just been in awe of the
exceptionally great ideas that SCS generates and shares with so many
people. I have found a great home here with all you wonderful and
friendly stampers.
I actually resisted scrapbooking for many years and would only
scrapbook when forced to (as siblings, we started a scrapbook for my
mom). However, after graduating from college in April 2005 with a
degree in art (graphic design) and returning to my hometown (Salt
Lake City, UT), I was once again introduced to scrapbooking through
Stampin' Up! When I saw the Idea Book and Catalog I was amazed at how
far the industry had come! It was awesome and beautiful, and more
importantly, exciting! So I started scrapbooking in August of 2005
and I've never stopped since.
I stamp on every single page--I can't help it! Stamps and ink lend a
tactile and textural quality to scrapbook pages that is lacking in
digital layouts or simply using stickers or rub-ons. It also makes it
nearly impossible to replicate it. It's one of a kind. Original. I
love that.
When I started scrapbooking, I looked at some of the popular
scrapbooking websites, and got involved with those, but never quite
felt like what I was doing was fitting in. I loved scrapbooking, but
not many of the pages shown in magazines or on the really popular
websites featured stamping. I always thought they were missing one of
the strongest tools out there for scrapbooking: stamping.
So here I am at SCS, and I'm loving it!
Thank you so much for this honor! I'm so humbled to be chosen out of
so many talented and stampers/scrapbookers.
Kristina, I had totally noticed your pages in the gallery, too - LOVE THEM! Welcome to SCS and welcome as our scrap Diva this week! Can't wait to use some of your pages as inspiration!!
Congratulations Kristina! You have a wonderful gallery and no wonder with a degree in art! I am so humbled!! We are so glad you found a place here and hope you will be around awhile. Love the layouts. Great choice Miss Darcy!!
I've been in your gallery and you do have some awesome pages!! I love your artistic eye on things (and photos!) and I couldn't agree with you more about the stamping on pages!!!:-D Welcome to SCS and I would love to see more of your pages on here!!

Congratulations Kristina!! I'm not surprised though... I have been scoping out your gallery since you started posting! Your pages are beautiful works of art! I appreciate your comments about stamping on your pages, and how it lends texture and makes them "one of a kind". Coming from a graphic artist (and with digital scrapping so popular), I was so glad to hear that from you!! Can't wait to see more of your work...keep them coming!

Thanks so much to all of you! SCS really is the most friendly and welcoming place! I will definitely be here for a good long while.
Kristina
You're pages are GREAT! I'd already seen some, and I will definately be CASEing the multi photo layout -- TOO FAB GIRL!!! :-D
Thanks for the inspiration...and Darcy woman...great pick!
Is it just a place for someone to get promoted for their work each week?
If so, then starofmay, I jump on the bandwagen. Your pages make me say, "I'm not worthy" of scrapbooking that is... your pages have quickly found a wonderful spot on my favorites list. Thanks for joing the scs community and sharing you designs in the gallery. You are so young to be so talented! Keep it up and we'll watch for your sketchbook to go on sale at costco!

The Diva Challenge is the newest Scrapbooking challenge ~ Darcy, or someone else, chooses a scrapbooker's gallery to showcase, has her write a little bit about her and her scrapping, and our challenge is to use one of the 'Diva's' pages to inspire us for our own scrapbooking. Sometimes more scraplifted than others - for example me this week!

LOL! I love that explaination. It's perfect! Yes, the Divas allow us to view their work and take inspiration from it. And more and more lately, I'm inspired by Mary's work!

Here is my page, made from the inspiration of the Silly Faces page, it's such a wonderful layout for the times you get "digital click happy" which DH did with this group of pictures.
