This week's challenge comes to you from Julie/reneejul1. She wrote and posted a tutorial for the Fossil Stone Technique. You can find samples and the tutorial on this thread: Fossil Stone Technique!
Thank you Julie for sharing your talent with us.
When you upload, please put TLC94 in the keyword section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread. If you are new to the challenges, or need help uploading or linking, click here.
I look forward to seeing all your creations!
As always, I am in search of suggestions for techniques for future TLCs! Please PM with suggestions and a link to the directions and/or a sample if you can.
Wow! I can't believe I'm first. I just happened to be working my way through the threads. I just learned how to do Fossil Stone not too long ago. Thanks, Beth, for posting so early!
Can't wait to play BUT it will have to be tomorrow (eyelids are shutting down on me ) I have had these instructions downloaded for a while BUT haven't tried it yet! THAT is why I NEED these challenges
WHOO HOO can't wait.
whoa! couldn't sleep and just happened to check...oh man, I tried it and it sure didn't look like Julie's beautiful stuff! guess it's back to the drawing board!
thanks Beth...and Julie
Can't sleep so I made a card for this challenge. --Great challenge Beth, nice and easy, i like that. Great tutorial Julie--
I use teal and turquoise for the stone part and then I stamped over that with snowflakes in teal and turquoise. I like the effect the snowflakes have on the fossilstone. --I wanted to put an eyelet in the tag, but don't want to wake up my Hubby. Hope he doesn't realize I'm gone, he'll think I'm crazy, makin' cards in the middle of the night.

I agree, Dawn! This technique doesn't seem to work well for me. Out of about four tries, I had ONE that was worth working with. Lots of trashed cardstock at my house!
Just did this technique Friday for my stamping group. We did this a bit differently. See if this helps others.
We used small drops of reinkers on plastic and spritzed it with water. We used three colors that were in our main image or card. Then put plastic together and rubbed hands over it to mix or the brayer to bring colors together. Then put the shiny cs in. With clear plastic you can see what your colors look like. If you don't like their look you can rinse and start again.
Here are a few samples I did like this. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=34518 http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=34518
I'm home sick today so I might get to play later. Thanks Beth.
I think I can do this! Bensarmom - what color reinkers did you use? I always need all the help I can get in figuring out what looks good together. Great examples so far, and thanks Beth for the challenges.
I can't open the tutorial. I know you need to smoosh 2 colors of ink on two sides of the window sheet/folder. Do you put them together and brayer to mix colors, then add the glossy cardstock? HELP! I wanna play!!!

You use two similar colors of ink one on each side of the folder you're using. Then brayer, open and add glossy cs, glossy side out.
Have fun!
I'm under the weather today and have other obligations.. so I'll probably not get to do this until tomorrow.. also have to go get some glossy cardstock!
But! I'm thoroughly enjoying what I'm seeing
Keep 'em coming ladies!
PEACE!
