Default TLC631 ~ No Line Colouring ~ {03/27/17}

Not a new technique per se, but I couldn't find that it had ever been featured in the TLC challenges. And man, was it a challenge to me! Colouring is not one of the things very high up in my skill set!! But it's something I've always wanted to try - and I hope you'll give it a go.

We have two tutorials:

No Line Watercolor Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers

No Line Coloring Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers

The first one is watercolour, the second is with markers. In fact for my sample I used pencils. Whatever medium you use, have fun. Stamping with a very pale ink sure beats trying to work on a lightbox!
I found the tip in one of the tutorials to stamp a second image on a scrap of paper with DARK ink very helpful, so that I could still see the outlines well on that even after I'd started colouring my image in.

Here's a link to our TLC631 No Line Colouring Gallery

Here's my card: TLC631 Flower For You

Remember to use the keyword TLC631 when you are uploading. It's helpful (to the hostesses for sure!) if you come back and leave a link on this thread. It's also wonderful if you upload to the correct tutorial gallery, helping to create an on-site library of inspiration.

If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:

1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

While the tutorials I linked to onsite feature markers and watercolour, please feel free to use any colouring medium you like! I have a little overtime today but I'll be along later in (my) afternoon to see what beauties you've coloured up.

Your sample is so pretty. I will try it later today. Shading is the answer, isn't it. Love it.

I've done this quite often lately as I don't like the little dots in the image, this effectively erases them!!

This was fun. I read up on the technique, and I sure like it. I'm not always fond of images stamped with dark lines. Here's my card,

Oh what a struggle this technique was for me - with a trash bin FULL of unrecognizable images - but I finally got a piece that I wasn't totally embarassed about posting. Tips, tricks & constructive criticism welcomed to help me learn where I went wrong in this process . . . I watched the video a half dozen times but what looked so easy there didn't translate to my composition. Anyway . . Here's my attempt:

Had to revisit this technique- went with this dog inspired scene- been seeing some happy canines on my walks- added a hydrant for fun. Paper punched olive green flowers complete the scene. Went with bright colors for my framing- worked for today's color challenge. Here's Dog & Hydrant

I would like to add Santa to the gallery. He was a bear to color. Maybe I should have started with one that wasn't stamped in gray.
