TLC452~Inlay Die Cuts~{10/21/13}
Hello
Today I'm sharing my first challenge with you all and I'm thrilled! A couple of months ago I was approached about joining this fantastic group of ladies for a weekly challenge. Unfortunately, I had a lot going on and couldn't join right away but things are slowly settling down and it's time to get at it!
Are you ready?!
TLC452
While surfing the internet, blogland and Pinterest I have come across this cool technique that some have named Inlay Die Cuts. I'm sure most of us have some sort of die or punch that we can use.
This is a great way to use up scraps or make quick and easy cards.
I managed to make TWO cards from my one piece of scrap paper. Always a win win in these busy times!
1. Cut pieces of cardstock or pattern paper if you like.
2. Adhere it to a piece of plain paper(not cardstock) as it's thinner and easier to die cut or punch out.
3. Trim your paper to a desired size.
4. Run your die through your machine or punch your shape.
After die cutting your piece of paper, use the two pieces to create a card or cards as I have done.
I can't wait to see what you create using this technique!
Here is my sample: Holiday Cards
Be sure to load your creations in the TLC452 Gallery .

Thank you, Dawn. You've pushed me into trying something that's been on my "to do" list for a while. I love it when a challenge does that for me!!

A terrific challenge, Dawn. Glad to see you as part of the TLC design team. Your challenge was perfect for me today since I needed to create two cards for different situations. Thanks.

Here are the 2 cards I made for this challenge! I love this technique! What an awesome way to use up scraps! I cut & glued strips of various scrap papers in shades of orange. Then I used a die & cut out a butterfly from the square of orange. I cut the overlay from a piece of black CS & glued it on. I painted the BG using Twinkling H2Os, popped up the butterfly, added sequins, & wrote 'Hello.' Then, I die cut another (solid black) butterfly to fill in the empty space & added a black frame. I added black velvet ribbon on the bottom, & black & orange pearls. Two cards for the price of one! TFL!
