Hello everyone!!! First I want to thank Bev (TexasGrammy) for hosting the TLC Challenge for me..... I had a knee replacement three weeks ago and I am just now back in the craft room. It's going to be a longer recovery than I thought but if I behave myself and do my exercises I will be better than new in no time!!!
This week's challenge is so fun...we are going to make our own chevrons strips!!!! They are so trendy now and Yup...I just saved you several dollars because you don't have to buy a die. All you need is a score board or paper cutter with a groove so you can score your card stock. Here is the link to Julie Hoffman's awesome tutorial !!
Here are the deets:
1. Cut card stock strips 1 inch wide and as long as you need to cover your card base
2. Score the strip lengthwise at 1/2 inch
3. Now score along the strip every 1/2 inch along the width of the strip
4. Cut the paper from the bottom corner to the middle score line, removing triangle shapes along the length of the paper.
5. Now turn the paper and cut the other side the same
6. The tutorial has pictures that will make it easier to figure out the cut lines
Joan- love the chevron idea, but used a pre-cut zigzag border, cutting sections into chevrons, dressed up with adhesive pearls. My mouse image is from Stampabilities' HM Monica's Gift; and my tulips are from SU's Pocket Full of Posies. Added a traced branch with leaves, and two ties. Here's Just For You

Thanks for the challenge Joan. I wanted to try this and probably would have forgotten without this push.
Best of luck with the knee -- my dad (who had both knees replaced) always said doing the exercises was super important, so keep up with them.
Here's my card

I needed to make a thank you card for a friend tonight and I decided it would be fun to see how many challenges I could squeeze into one card... And what to my wonderful surprise, one challenge was to make Joan a HAPPY BIRTHDAY card. What an awesome birthday idea. So I sort of cased Joan's... TLC427 Turn Your Face to the Sun which included making your own chevrons and I included some summer fruit which was the June VSNMINI challenge from a month ago.
