Can you believe that fall is almost here?! Werent we just complaining about the heat a week ago? LOL I woke up to a crisp 46 degrees this morning. I love crisp clear mornings where you can bundle up in a cozy sweater and drink a cuppa on the porch. Fall is most definitely my most favored season.
~ Petal Cards ~
Today we are going to do BeatesPetal card that was loaded into the resources section recently. Its a really cool concept card! You can view the tutorial and video HERE. I highly suggest that you pay close attention to the technique she uses to line her petals up. If you dont own a scor pal or the like, you can use any means to create a correct right angle. It is really a simple card to make and the effect is wonderful!

This may seem like a strange question---but----when you send a card such as this to a non-card maker do they understand how to open it if you do the belly band, or whatever. I know I worked really hard on my Christmas cards last year--did an easel card--and only the card makers understood how to display it--the others just thought it was weird. :( So, just curious...
Also love how you put the back piece on to cover up the criss cross parts. I am going to have to try this and hope the birthday girl figures out how to open it without destroying the card.

Not a strange question at all . I had the same issue with the slider card. I made a small diagram in MS Paint and inserted it into a word document. I think I fit like 6 on a page. I put one of those in with the pop up slider card.
Now I had not even thought about this petal card yet, but I'm going to try to do the same. This one is a bit more complicated though, so I'll have to give it some thought
To really simplify the placement of the petals, you could start with a square the same length as the circle diameter or slightly larger. Glue the top and bottom circles to the back first. Then glue the left and right circle to the back. It will look slightly different on the back, or you could cover it like Holly did.
Not sure why even after being approved that they aren't showing in the TLC343 gallery. I had a lot of fun making this card Holly. Thanks for the push. I hope you like my variation of the petal cards.
Fabulous challenge! Thanks, Holly, and thanks, Beate, for such a great tutorial! Here is my Garden Petals (closed) and (Open). Thanks so much for looking! I'll be back after dinner to view and comment. Can't wait to see everyone's cards!
Here's my card for today's challenge. Thanks ladies for the fun challenge.

Thanks for a great challenge Holly! This was fun! Next time I think I will try two different dp. Was a lot easier to do than it looks! My card is here:
