Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks TLC challenge!!! I am really excited because our challenge this week comes to us from Trish (TrishG)!! She is graciously sharing her Colored Embossing technique with us...thanks, Trish!!!
It's pretty simple...all you have to do is use markers (Stampin Up! or similar markers) to color the inside of an embossing folder (the indented part)...when you run it through a Cuttlebug or other embossing machine the raised part is colored....how cool is that!!!
Trish spritzed her's with water before embossing the paper but I wanted to see what it looked like without the water. I did find that you will need to use a Q Tip or sponge to wipe off the ink that gets outside of the sunken part on the folder or it will ruin the design. I found that out after ruining a few practice rounds!!
Trish has some other samples on her blog, found here.
Joan and Trish, such a colorful challenge. Can't wait to play after work!

Fun technique, Joan. I learned Copics(alcohol-based) don't work...or at least they didn't for me. Had to find other water-based markers. Thanks for a fun MondaY!
That was so much fun - thank you Trish and Joan. So much easier than colouring afterwards . A whole bunch of blues.
I'm thinking I might just add some black dots in for eyes on the embossed birds the more I look at it...
It's kind of like stamping off--I got two cards from the one time coloring the EF. I actually like the second embossing better--the colors are nice and soft.
Another TIP I learned--I was being careful with my markers, but still feel like this technique is really hard on the marker tips, so USE your OLD Markers!!

Thanks Joan for a fabulous technique and to Trish for great examples. I combined with todays CAS challenge to use a banner. It covered up just a tiny bit of ink that went outside the EB image :-)
Late in posting but I actually go this done a while ago! Here's my card. Thanks Joan.
