OHHHHHHH yes, I get it now. I thought both the bottom and top were attached to the acetate. LOL Thanks, Lynn!

Lynn, this is sooo awesome! I did a little box over the weekend but not an acetate one....Can anyone tell me WHERE is the best place to purchase acetate?? I tried Office Depot in town and the only thing I found in the store (the employees looked at me like I was crazy asking about it) similiar was over head projectore sheets. And I refuse to pay 45.00 bucks for 25 sheets, lol.

Default acetate

I bought transparency sheets at Office Max. You should be able to find them at any office store. I can't believe those people just looked at you! How dumb are they!! Don't they know acetate?! LOL! But I would also look for the transparencies that can handle wear and tear. Like, mine are for copiers. So, you know it has to be durable to go through a copy machine! Someone else said to get ones for ink jet printers so it can handle heat.
Tell the person helping you that you need durable transparencies, and not flimsy ones and you should be good to go!

Best of luck!

This was such fun! I revised the pattern a little - making the top like the 3 inch box in last weeks Weekly Inkling - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=93535

Great challenge. I did mine a little different in that I cut the bottom piece of designer paper/cs the same size as the acetate. I then attached it to the bottom before I put it together, (I was having a heck of a time getting the bottom attached evenly so I thought, hmmmm, maybe if I attach it first). Worked great and no grief

Wow...that's very expensive. I think you should be able to find them less expensive than that. What about Walmart, Target or K-mart? Have you tried there? Acetate and overhead projector sheets are just about the same thing...some are thicker than others.

Yep, tried the Wal-mart we have around here. They have no clue what I am talking about, lol. Its so funny, I was thinking I was pronouncing it wrong, but then I would spell it for them and they still had such a 'you are weird lady' look on their faces, rofl. But I'm wondering of a good online source maybe? Anybody know of one?

I will try target...where exactly is this stuff located at ya'lls stores? I have looked in crafting section, where they have the computers and photo print paper, in the office supply sections too...nada....

Thank you Lynn - I love techniques so it was extra nice to have a totally brand-new to me one to try out today. Not very imaginative due to a headache, but I'll be back to try this again for sure. I just filled mine with Primas, having put flowers and butterflies on it. Try not to keep too many sweets around!

Thanks for this tip! The only office supply we have here is the Office Depot, no Office Max...darn it, lol. I have tried the yellow pages too calling just some small time office supply places, no luck either there. Did I forget to mention I'm from Small Town, TX!? LOL! I always have problems locating the good stuff, thats why I do online ordering alot!

No, these will be found in the office supply department...next to the copy paper, envelopes, pencils, etc. Try calling them overhead projector sheets. That is what they are originally used for. Acetate is what they are made of, and most people working in retail stores wouldn't know that overhead projector sheets are made from acetate.

I have cheap copier acetate that I use for all sorts of things. But for acetate cards and a box like this it is just a bit flimsy. I got some acetate sheets from Flourishes - it's called Crystal Clear Card Stock and it was $4 for ten sheets. And you'd get 3 boxes out of one sheet . I'll be getting more next time I order from them, for sure.

But you can buy acetate a/k/a overheads, from any office supply store or Walmart, K-mart, Target, etc. It's sold in a package with varying amounts, so just look at what they have available. I always get the type suitable for laser jet printers because they can take the heat, should I decide I want to emboss on them.

SEE!!! This is exactly why our HUSBANDS need to understand why we purchase stuff and have no idea what we're going to do with it until months later. OMG OMG OMG -- - I have acetate sitting right here and I was going to post also - "where do you get it"

So, the next time hubby says "Do you really need that?" You say "Yes dear, because the ladies on SCS will discover a way to use it for stamping and this way I'll be prepared!!

Thank you Lynn for an excellent challenge this week. Like others, I couldn't believe how easy this actually was. Must try a fancier one now though.

Default I did it!

I finally did it. This was another challenge that took me alot of hand/eye coordination. I decided on my new stamp set with a Paris theme. I haven't made a card with it yet, guess what I'm doing next!

Lynn, I really thought I couldn't do this, but I just did it step by step. Thank you for your encouraging words!

Enjoy and thanks for looking.
