Well, here it is! You can't see the shimmer in the photo, but it is really there. Just spritzed it all over the top two layers. Like this home made version better than the commercial stuff! http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...48684?cat=7183

Hope this is ok, I didn't have any of the above. I did have some Opal glitter spray that said it could be used on paper. The technique sounds great, I will have to buy some Perfect pearls and try again later. Here's mine: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...&ppuser=118730

ok.. I don't have any pearls either.. however, I do have LOTS of eyeshadow that I never use.. so, I tried my dove hairspray, some shimmery bonnebell eyeshadow, and some reinker..... totally WORKS! a little of the shimmer will rub off, but for the most part stays on and looks great..
goodie.. now I can play!!!
ok.. this stuff is getting ALL over me! great day! Is this what the celebs spray on themselves before award shows.. their skin always looks so shimmery.. gee whiz.. I hope it comes off in the shower.... or better yet, be fun to find some sort of glow-in-the-dark non-toxic stuff to add to it, spray the kids and let them run around the yard at night - teehee!
My second attempt at this challenge. The shimmer shows up better this time. Used hair spray in the mix instead of rubbing alcohol. Wasn't as messy and dried quicker! http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...8804?cat=11095

This was a challenge for me. I started out with PearlEx and Alcohol. The sparkle kept rubbing off of the paper. I then went and hair sprayed the entire paper and then it worked. yea!! The picture does not show the sparkle but it really does in real life. Well so here it is...
No PP or PE in my supplies either, but I'll be commenting!!! Question: Once you mix up the recipe can you keep it in the spray bottle or do you need to discard the excess (ie does it gum up etc.?) thanks!
Hi Christine
I've used my gold pearl ex and hairspray tons of times and just leave it in the little bottle. I do have a pony bead in there to help shake up the PE that just floats to the bottom when not shaken up. It works fine. I also have a white PE/hairspray mixed that I've used for months now and it's also fine. I love that I can make my own glimmer spray.
Thanks so much for the idea of adding reinker to color it the exact color you need for your project.
I'd love to play so I'll see if I can come up with a sample a bit later. Gotta go feed he hungry kids first thought.
I hope I didn't break the rules, Beth--I used the only shimmery stuff I have and you're right, you can't see it for crud in a pic, hehe! Here is my card: Shimmery Joy, tfl!
Sounds like fun Beth, I will have to pass on this one as I have no PP and the nearest Craft Store is 40miles. Sorry, Can't wait to see what everyone else does with this
This was super fun! I really like the glimmer mists, but had no idea I could make them myself. I didn't have perfect pearls but big thanks to Shelly for her tip. I liked the way this turned out using just the pearl ex so I didn't add any ink color. I'll definitely be trying this with my other pearl ex powders. Thanks Beth for the wonderful challenge. Here is my card.
I used glimmer mist by tattered angels on the background of this page. I love glimmer mist; so I LOVED this challenge. Been doing more with glimmer mist today; hopefully, I can post some of it up too!
Great challenge, Beth! You're right, though. It's harder to get a picture of the shimmer that it is to make the card. Here's My Sunny Friends. I'll return later to view and comment and TFL.
