Have some time before work this morning and thought I'd do the challenge. Guess not. I haven't joined the embossing bandwagon yet. Oh well, guess I will go do my own challenge which is to make lots of masculine cards.

Okay, this might be a time-consuming option...
You know how you can emboss with punched out pieces of cardstock? Well, a person could punch out pieces to use for their embossed pattern, stick those to their cardstock with removable adhesive and then ink up the negative space of their cardstock with a sponge and then emboss those pieces. It'd probably be easiest to choose a small panel that you could punch out your pieces from and then use that as a guide for sticking the punches on the piece you're actually going to emboss. I don't know if this makes any sense at all, but I think it could work for those who don't have any embossing folders.

I see so many of you can't participate due to not having the CB or another machine. Beate gave a wonderful tutorial on "Dry De-embossing" which gives a very similar effect of this "Negative CB" effect. You can check it out here...

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a family that lost a little two year old in an accident. I love the soft look you can achieve with this technique so used it for my card. What do you think?

My Cuttlebug was sitting all alone and unloved so I am so glad you came up with this challenge. I brought out some retired In Color papers and inks strictly on a whim. I also went for pretty simple.

Here is my Card

Thanks for Looking!!

Congratuations, Ann on being the guest host!! I can't play this one - no cuddlebug and no embossing tools... But I've enjoyed everyone's creations!! Totally awesome job, everyone.

Cheers,

I've had a couple of PMs asking me to explain this a little better and I really don't know if this will help, but I tried taking some pictures. I had to do this very quickly as I have a young DD who isn't cooperating with me doing a great job with this so maybe this will help and maybe it will just confuse people even more--I make no guarantees !!
