Default TLC586 ~ Erasable Ink ~ {5/16/16}

Happy Monday, Technique Lovers!

If you love techniques and you love challenges, then you're in the right spot !!! Today's challenge is brand stampin' new so hold on to your blocks! Let's try playing with the ERASABLE INK technique!!!

Don't be deceived by the title... the ink isn't actually "erasable." You're going to use a pencil eraser to remove some of the ink from an inked acrylic block. Pretty cool, right?! IKR

Here's how it goes...

1. Ink up any size acrylic block with any color ink. NOTE: The fewer inks used, the more visible the erased image will be. ALSO... I really like using this technique as my background. This way I can see more of my erased images.

2. Using a pencil eraser, create desired images in the ink. (Psst... remember breathing on the window panes at school and then writing in the mist on the window... hehe, that's a little what this is like.)

Create circles or circle flowers or stars or little crosses or really just about anything! Write your name in the ink if you wanna... just be sure to write it BACKWARD so that when it's stamped it will be in the correct direction .

3. STAMP the inked block onto card stock.

4. Create card using stamped image.

It's THAT easy! Trust me... you are quite the creative peeps... I've seen your work... I know you can totally do this without feeling like you're "way out of your comfort zone." Besides, that's what a "challenge" is... something to take us out of our comfort zone to create something wild, crazy, and beautiful.

So let's see what you come up with! Here are my examples...

ERASABLE INK FLOWERS

ERASABLE INK XO's

Once you've created your masterpiece, share it with us here in a comment below and be sure to add the TLC586 tag so that we can also find your creativity in the TLC 586 ERASABLE INK GALLERY... HERE.

Thanks for visiting today! I hope you have a creative day!!!

This was such fun - like a lino cut but without the worn-out fingers afterwards from all that cutting! I had time to make this while the water got hot, now it's time to go and mop the floors.

O... M... GOONESS (that's how I say it IRL... no "d". Hehehe... peeps make fun of me but I can't help it. HA!)

Y'all the gallery is already full of so much awesomeness!!! I debated and debated and debated about whether or not to share this technique. I didn't want anyone to think I was some weirdo always coming up with her own techniques, hehehe. But WHOA! Y'all totally get (aka understand) this fun technique cause some of the samples I'm seeing (actually all of them) have hit the nail straight on the head! YAY!!!

I tried this first with dye inks but couldnt get any useable results so switched to pigments instead - Got much better drawings & stampings but did have to emboss each mosaic cause they were REALLY wet Added a few sequins & Rhinestone as this was pretty plain - but in the spirit of the challenge. This was FUN! The 'hard' part for me was picking an image. Here is mine.

To be completely honest, I wasn't real enthused about this technique and wondered what solid-ish stamps I had that I could even useyadda yadda. I saw my Blossom stamp (which I can't even ever remember using) and thought, that has a large solid area. I tried several different designs on the petals, and several different ink colors (some colors definitely show the technique better than others). One design I tried turned out great so I did all of the petals in that design (swirls) and stamped again, in a good working color. I am excited about the result. The swirls on the blossom look really cool, in my humble opinion, like roses on a flower petal. So thank you for expanding my horizons and getting me to try a technique I would not otherwise have. This was actually fun and I will probably use this technique again. Here is my card.
