TLC407 ~ Paper Mosaic ~ (12/10/12)
Today I am welcoming a Guest Hostess (even though I am posting) to the TLC - my fab friend, Libby Hickson! Libby {aka stampinlibby} has an awesome technique to share with you that looks like so much fun - and the result is so cool! It's called PAPER MOSAIC and here are the instructions per Libby: 1. Choose patterned papers you wish to use & cut into small squares. 2. Apply a small amount of Mod Podge to your base cardstock with a paintbrush - work in small areas at a time so it doesn't dry too quickly. 3. Attach your mosaic squares to the Mod Podge. Add more Mod Podge and repeat. 4. After all squares have been placed, cover entire area with another layer of Mod Podge. Set aside to dry. 5. Once dry, stamp your image in permanent black ink (I used Ranger Archival) and trim. No Mod Podge? Try Adhesive Sheets! If you have other substitutions that work, share them in the thread. You do want your work to have a finished top, though, rather than just having individual pieces of glued paper. Libby's sample: Mosaic Angel TLC407 Gallery Submissions Keyword: TLC407 (no spaces) |
Neat technique, Judy...although I did alter it a bit by cutting irregular shapes and using UTEE as my "glaze". Thanks!

Bwahahaha......How did I know this would be our challenge today? Grin!

Oh this sounds interesting! Hope to find some time this evening!

Yay!! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Thanks Libby for suggesting the mosaic technique for today's TLC407 challenge. Haven't done this since elementary school and just as I vaguely remembe it ... it was a little messy but FUN! :)

This one was quite challenging, but I finally came up with something. Here's my card -

Here is mine
Fun technique but my black ink turned purple? Weird reaction to the modge podge I guess. |
And HERE is another one.
Love the texture created by this technique. The purple ink is a little weird though... |
