TLC212 Ribbon Frame {3/16/09}

Are you ready for some ribbon fun? My good friend, Claire, of waltzinghouse.blogspot.com, is a genius, in my opinion, when it comes to ribbon fun. No one has her special flair when it comes to creative ways to use ribbon in projects. When I saw THIS card, I immediately e-mailed her and asked if it would be all right to share. So here are the details on how to create your own ribbon frame:

Things you will need are:
Cardstock
Ribbon
Slot Punch tool OR craft knife to create your own slots (notice I say slot and not slit...there is a difference, and after you read Claire's instructions, you'll know why a slot is preferred)
Stamps and other embellishments to complete your project

For Claire's complete instructions, CLICK HERE

This is such a creative group that I'm sure you all find all sorts of ways to use this ribbon framing technique and I can't wait to see your results. Things you might try are adding beads, charms, etc.

Hint for next week: A tisket, a tasket...

bensarmom 03-16-2009 02:29 AM

Lynn, You keep me growing in what I learn to do. Thanks for that. Hope to play after work and the orthodontist. :-)

gregzgurl 03-16-2009 02:34 AM

Goody! I subscribe to Claire's blog, and have been wanting to try this - now I have an extra reason to! It'll have to wait 'till this afternoon, though, unfortunately... Thanks, Lynn!

Annie's Pantry 03-16-2009 03:17 AM

Here is my RIBBON FRAMED ROCK THE FARM.

OMGosh am I actually the 1st after Lynn. WOW.

flowergal36 03-16-2009 03:39 AM

Thanks so much Lynn and Claire. Will the horizontal slot punch from SU work? Or do you need to be able to go in farther than it will reach. Love this idea.

angelladcrockett 03-16-2009 03:46 AM

AWESOME challenge today, Lynn!!! I can't wait to make more of these!!! I'm late to work, but it was worth it! Here is my card:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=84051

designlady 03-16-2009 04:01 AM

Wow, this is a neat challenge! Thanks, Lynn. I hope to play after I get the kids off.

twinwillowsfarm 03-16-2009 04:04 AM

Well THAT was fun! Here is my card. I highly recommend the exacto knife over the SU slot punch... you have to work too close to the edge for that slot punch.

I may make another later just to try that out... I love the look!

lacyquilter 03-16-2009 04:09 AM

Fun technique. Hope I get a chance to play. Thanks, Lynn.

artystamper 03-16-2009 04:12 AM

Super challenge! I printed the deets off of Claire's blog when she posted that great card - but have not gotten a chance to try it out!!! so today may be the day!!!

Cook22 03-16-2009 04:12 AM

Gosh, I wasn't expecting such an early post! I could have been up here instead of painting the window sills... This looks like fun. Thanks, Lynn.

eured99 03-16-2009 04:22 AM

This looks so lovely, I don't know if I can play today....getting ready to go oot, but it's on my list for when I get back!

sunsetbeaches 03-16-2009 04:49 AM
