Default YAY, for cheap copics!

Hey Everyone,

So, I can't afford copics... Unless I purchase them a few at a time and that's not the kind of gal I am- I want it all, now! Like, right now! SO, my Dad lives in Japan and found a store that sells them for $3.80!!!! He's picked some up for me Does anyone know the cheapest place to get copics online? I live in the middle of nowhere so driving to an art store/LSS is out of the question!

TIA,
Tiffany

I just purchased some sketch copics from oozak.com for $3.90 each and free shipping for over $50. The drawback is limited stock.

Also purchased some sketch from carpediem.com for $3.95 and had to pay shipping of almost $14. On the plus side additional orders get a discount (I haven't placed a second order yet) and the colors are in stock.

I like the sketch for the wide and brush ends plus being able to use the airbrush system.

Do you know what they charge for shipping? $2.99 is a great price, but if they charge a fortune to ship it's not worth it. I hate to pay shipping. do they ship quickly, too? just curious and leary of ordering from some place new. TIA

It says free shipping for orders over $90/$50------->hang on, let me check! It's for orders over $99. But, if you're thinking about getting a larger set I think this is worth it! I'm definitely going to order the basic and intermediate next pay day!

no, I'm not looking to buy a full set. I need to fill in a few colors and need a colorless blender, so I'm hoping to only spend around $35. They look to have great stock on all their colors, most places are out of stock on the popular colors (the ones that match SU's colors). thanks for your insight.

I've ordered from Otakufuel a couple of times. Their shipping tends to run 7-10 days. Their customer service is great. I was ordering Ciaos and a couple were out of stock -- they emailed me and asked if I would mind if they substituted the Sketch style marker for the ones that were out of stock at no additional cost to me.

HTH,

I ordered a couple of sets of Ciaos from Oozak and they have a nifty little update on the sidebar to the right if they have just had or when they are expecting a shipment and I got my order within 3 days of ordering! and updates and a tracking number. All the Customer Service things that make me warm and fuzzy inside!

My markers were shipped the same day that I ordered them and then arrived two days later via Priority Mail.

They were well packed in bubblewrap.

All the markers that I wanted were in stock, which was a first for me!

I'd definitely order from them again.

Hi, I was wondering if you can tell me where to find these copics at such a good price in Japan. My sister is going there in a couple of weeks...I want her to pick some up for me. I'm also not sure what set to purchase. Do you have any suggestions where I can start? And do they sell them in seets at this store. Thanks so much!

What part of Japan is she going to? I'm on Okinawa which is an island quite aways off the coast of mainland Japan. It's hard to explain to someone who doesn't live here so let me know if she's coming to Okinawa and maybe I can hook up with her, that's the only way I know how to tell her how to get there, lol! No street signs here!

great, I'm placing my order this morning. This is great news. I have ordered from oozak and that is how their shipping and order processing was-super fast. They just don't seem to keep these markers in stock and the colors I want are always gone otherwise I would order from them again.

Yep, if you know anybody who lives in Japan and can mail you stuff, it's where the best deals on Copics are, since they are a Japanese product. I was just in Japan in May, and I made sure I had my Copic list

I live in northern Japan (a million miles from Tokyo and a zillion from Oki)... I have a small collection of Copic Sketch markers and most were bought at a store called Kaneiri (http://www.kaneiri.co.jp/index.php ) but some of the larger department stores have an entire floor dedicated to office supplies, stationery, scrapbooking supplies, books, etc and they carry them (and other great finds), too. And yes... they have all the sets and accessories! If they don't have them on the shelf, they will get them from another store (usually in a day or two) for you.

My FAVORITE "craft" store in Japan is called Tokyu Hands (http://www.tokyu-hands.co.jp/index.htm). I've been to one in Osaka and another in Sapporo, which is our closest one unfortunately... If you Google either store, Google offers to translate so you can at least search locations, etc. I also have a translator so if you know where your sis is going, PM me and I'll check and see if they have either store in that location.

Tell her that, in Japan, always look up... stores are many floors high instead of being all on one level so the goodies may be worth an nice escalator ride

Also, there's a great source for "alterables" at any 100 Yen shop (these are everywhere). I've found chipboard coasters, tins, magnets, glass/pottery (rub ons!), ribbon, bling, bags, boxes, etc... the list is endless!

Hope you get some GOODies!

Look for the YUZAWAYA Craft store. If you plan to buy a big bunch, buy their membership for Y500, and you instantly get additional 10% discount on your purchase. That's the best deal I found in Japan (I lived there for 5 years). The big Yuzawaya Store I go to is right by YAMATO Station via Odakyu Line and Sotetsu Line (train). Maybe your Dad can find that

If you don't find a Yuzawaya store, just go to any craft store or crafts/office department in the popular department stores. Your best bet would be in Tokyo, Yokohama or any of the big cities. Good luck!

It was so fun to get around. I miss it terribly. I hope one day we can go back!

One day I will go to Japan.. 3 years of studying Japanese in college and was totally wasted because I'm getting old and can't remember any of it anymore.

Maybe I can take a trip and tell my hubby I'm going to go buy some markers :P

Oozak just received a new shipment and they now seem stocked with Ciao and Sketch markers. They even show how many of each marker they have in stock. How do I know? I just ordered a bunch more yesterday and their prices and free shipping cannot be beat. Their customer service is amazing too--I ordered my copics by 4pm one day and had them on my porch the next afternoon!
