Holy cow that is an awesome price for a Scor-Pal!!! If I didn't already have one, I'd be the first in line.....but I could also buy one for a gift! Woohoo!
Already have a scor-pal (although I expect to be enabling my friend tomorrow at this price!) but just ordered a bunch of supplies at WAY better prices than I have ever seen before.
Thanks for this. I order a Scor-Pal. However, I'm a bit peeved that during checkout there were at least 3 attempts to have me sign up for something or other - traveler's club or something - which has NOTHING to do with papercrafting.
Of course I said "no" to everything, but it annoyed me that I would have to do that. If this is the usual M.O. for this site, that may have been my first and last order.

This didn't happen to me, I just checked out normally and quickly! Sorry you had those issues!

Same here...not one promo of any sort when I checked out!
Were they popups?
And as for anyone ordering from this company before...they are a brand new spin-off of ritzcamera, for mainly scrapping supplies...and I have ordered from ritz a dozen times with no issues.

I just ordered my first nesties (2 sets) and my mat. The shopping and checkout process was fast and easy. Right through PayPal...which is how I like it!
As for the promo's, there was a button to press at the very end but I ignored it.

I should clarify. They weren't popups. They just had a button that said something like "Get $20 off your order now!" during checkout; but when I clicked them, it was to a whole other site, first one was some kind of travel club. I forget what the 2nd was and by the third, I just ignored.
What peeves me is that it wasn't some kind of discount I could get directly from scrapbook alley, but that it directed me to something that had nothing to do with papercrafting!
I guess I'm just sensitive that way.

Placed my order for 2 nesties and some replacement blades for my fiskars cutter. I had no pop-ups, and no problems. Geez I love using paypal to check out - I feel better about not exposing my credit card number.
Can anyone tell me why I need a scor-pal? It seems like I should want/have one, but somehow I have managed to survive w/o it. What makes it a "must have" for your card crafting?

Type the item you are looking for in the search box. That is how I found the Scor Mat.
I ordered a Cuttlebug item at a price no one has matched (Beautiful Boxes @ $11.55) and a Scor Mat for 10.39 (It is usual $16.00). Besides no shipping charge there is also no Sales Tax!
The Scor Mat fits inside the raised portion of the Scor Pal. One side looks kinda like the self-healing quilters mat with a grid and angle measurements that can be of use with a metal edge ruler and exacto knife and the other side is blank. On the blank side, you can do things that are a little messy as long as NO heat is involved - i.e. glue, stamp, color, etc. This side wipes clean when you are done.
Check out Gina K's Stamp TV site. I think she explains it much better than I can. I don't even have it yet but from what I have read/seen crafters like the mat because it makes the space that the ScorPal takes up in their craft area more versatile.
Any one - If I am wrong, please feel free to correct this information or explain it better.

Sewnmachine, I think we chatted about our hobby a little on another thread once. If I remember, you are kind of frugal like me.
But, you really do need a Scor-Pal. I didn't have one for a long time, either, and didn't think I needed it. Finally I got it, and I use it every single time I make a card. You will love the ease of scoring and measuring your cards. I was using my paper trimmer groove and thought it worked fine.
The Scor-Pal makes it so much more professional and you can score really quickly. Also, if you want to branch out and make some of the darling little gift boxes they show in the tutorials, it is a piece of cake. I gave lots of earrings for gifts at Christmas and made my own gift bags/boxes from metallic cardstock I found on sale. Everyone couldn't believe I made the little boxes.
If you want to make a little fancier card, like the gatefold, or tri-fold it is really easy to do with the Score-Pal. There are lots of projects and directions on the Score Pal site and on stamper's blogs that I frequent. It's easy to make your own envelopes with it, too.
Get it while it's on sale. You won't regret it.
Annette

Well, I have had and am still having very bad customer service with this website. i ordered some stuff early in June and immediately received a confirmation email. That's the last I heard, so I went online and did the check order status inder the help tab. It came up that they had no order for my name/email, and not even by the order number that was on the confirmation email. I then went to paypal and saw my transaction with them was status 'pending'. I emailed scrapbookingalley.com and got a reply back from someone at ritz camera and was told not to reply back by email, but to call customer service and it gave a number. I called that number and it is not a working number. So, I got the number from paypal, called, and was transferred a million times (not by a person, just a prompt system) and eventually got Ritz. Was on hold forever, so gave up. Went online under Ritz and did the live chat thing. Was on hold there forever also...I was the 6th person in line, but it took an hour to get to me. The customer service person could not locate my order and said he was going to send the paypal transaction id to someone in billing and they would get back to me. That was a few days ago and I have not heard a thing. I told him I wanted to place another order, and he advised me not to. So...what's that supposed to mean??? I have since sent two more emails to customer service with no response. I have even copied and pasted their confirmation email to them. So, I guess until they actually take my money from paypal, I may not have to worry. I understand that the paypal transaction is only good for 90 days. I'm sure if I tried, I could possibly stop the payment at any time by contacting paypal, but I'd really like my order! So, good luck to others who have ordered and please let me know if you receive your orders.

Yes - I try to be frugal, it doesn't always work out for me though. I'm going to go to the scor-pal website and check out the tutorials etc........ I should have done that a long time ago. I'm thinking now, that if I do go ahead and order the scor-pal, I'll order the scor-mat too. Then I could use the area as a work surface too. Thanks Bug!

gulp...... That whole order sounds like a disaster from start to finish! Well, I guess we will all have to wait and see what happens to our orders. Keep us posted though on how yours ultimately gets resolved!

I've looked on the site, but I can't find anything about Scor Mats...can you direct me to where this information might be?
Perhaps they were able to spin off the scrapbboking stuff before litigation stopped them, or perhaps it was done as part of a settlement. Either way, perhaps it happened so quickly the process's aren't functioning smoothly yet.
I always worry aobut prices so rock bottom there isn't any profit going on. Ritz had great prices, and went belly up, kwim??

Well, the order I placed on Sunday - arrived TODAY! No problems what so ever. I ordered 2 sets of nesties, and some Fiskars replacement blades. I rec'd a shipping confirmation email just this morning, and by this afternoon my package was here. Perfect. I think I'll go back and see if there is something else I want - friday is payday.

I ordered Sat and mine just arrived, however I never got an email and when I checked the website for order status, it only showed that I ordered (and still does...) I am very happy as well!
Thanks SO much for the heads up...I think! ;) I've ordered from Ritz Camera and Wolf Camera (they're all related) but hated having to pay shipping. The 'scrapbooking' items have been 20% off for several months...so their great prices will most likely continue! I sure hope they keep their free shipping!
I ordered the corner chomper, some Memento Dew Drops, some 6x6 albums and sheet protectors (my stamp index is that size), and an 8x8 paper holder (Cropper Hopper). Can't wait for it all to arrive!
I am so glad they have the $20 off $100 deal going. I've had a cart full of stuff sitting around for ages while I was hemming and hawing about what to purchase... glad I waited for the extra savings to come along!
I ended up getting:
- Scor-Pal and Scor-Mat (been wanting these forever!)
- Nesties Labels 1 and Labels 3
- Bazzill Smoothies cardstock in Chocolate Cream variety
- Tonic Duo Corner Punch - Ticket/Tag
- Niji small waterbrush
- Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Mustard Seed
- Ranger Seafoam White embossing powder
- Robin's Nest Dew Drops bottle in Getaway colors
- Making Memories Paper Piercer Deluxe
- Adhesive 3 mm pearls
All for $80.10! Seriously loving my order and can't wait for it to arrive! I love hearing about what people ordered, so please post so we can share in your joy.
