I just scored a bunch of goodies at Staples in their Clearance corner!
2 small clear paint cans which are clear with pretty metallic blue tops and bottoms for 90 cents each
10 photo cube pencil holders (with a frame on each of the four sides). They were each filled with 8 coordinating note cards and envelopes and 6 pencils for 50 cents each. I plan to give the photo cubes to my employees, add stamping and layers to the note cards for additional gifts and keep the pencils for our family to use.
4 note pad trays with coordinating note pads inside (approx 3 x 7) for 50 cents each.
2 small photo albums/brag books, to hold a 4 x 6 photo on each page for 50 cents each. I have already filled one for my mom.
2 packages of 2 small journals (approx 4 x with ribbon page markers for 50 cents per package.
2 vinyl portfolios full of note cards/envelopes and stationery sheets/
coordinating envelopes for 50 cents each. I plan to use the note cards for card bases, stamping and layering on them. I will cut the stationery sheets into background papers for cards.
2 packages of paper clips one box contains 50 swirl clips in a round clear plastic container, some navy and some burgundy. The other box contains 50 silver colored rectangular clips. Each carton was 50 cents.
I also got a leather business card holder in cuttlebug green and blue for 50 cents.
I am so excited I got so many gift items with just a little or no tweaking for so little money!!!
We don't have a staples nearby, those clear jars cost about $3. otherwise
I use them to store similar colored embellishments or ribbons in my stamping room. Here's a picture of one with added rub ons, they are usually black or white rubons, but exceptionally easy to do. I will go through withdrawal now

OMG, I just went totally insane on the little tins. They had bunches for 50 cents. I couldn't resist. I bought 15 blue for birthday favors for my DD's party, 10 green for various christmas things and 15 silver just to have on hand. Now I've got to find someplace to hind them. My DH will think I'm as crazy as all the folks at Staples did....

I got all the silver ones my Staples had on Friday. They were $.50 each. They had a ton of green ones, same price, but the blue ones were $.90. I couldn't figure that out.

I just went nuts with the paint cans, also. I went to 3 Staples and got a total of 43 cans. I plan to do a craft project with them for my MOPS group. Plus I had to have a few extras for me!
You gals are making me so envious, we don't have a staples nearby-STOP IT PLEASE (I'm glad you had such a fun day, really) Carolyn

I'm so glad others have cleaned them out of cans too! My DH did look at me like I was nuts!

well, I went yesterday and they had none of these items. The only thing I found were the bigger clear cans that were on sale for $2.49. I bought 2, but I really wish I could have found the 50cent ones!! oh well...
I just came from Staples where I found the clear paint cans with silver lids. I bought 15 of them!!! They were 50 each.
I didn't see any of the other things on the above list, but then again I had two of my kids with me and they didn't appreciate me hunting for bargains. I will be going in the area of two other Staples tomorrow and plan to stop in to see what I can find.
I really wish DH doesn't have to work tomorrow. I could make a road trip to my nearest Staples (about 1 1/2 hours). But there's also a Hobby Lobby near it. I hear so many people talking about this place I really want to get there too.
I had seen those paint cans a while ago at Staples (not yet marked down that far) but I couldn't remove the tops from any of them (?!) so I passed them by, but they were cute. Can't wait to see what you all do with them.
Wow..I might have to locate a Staples in another state and fly to get some...um...would be worth it to get them for .50 right...? I cant believe that Las Vegas does not have Staples.
OK so I went to a 2nd Staples today and they had the tins for .50!! I only bought 6 cause not sure what I'm gonna do with them yet. But I asked the cashier about the difference in the prices between the 2 staples and she said that it's up to the store to decide what price they charge for Clearance stuff.
so it's worth checking more than one staples if you can to find them for the cheap prices!!!

I went to a second Staples today and they had the cans on clearance for $2.90 , whereas the first Staples had them for $0.50 (and I bought them out!). Anyway ... I, too, asked about the price difference and was told that if I brought in my receipt from the first Staples, that they would match the price. Unfortunately, I didn't have my receipt with me, and I don't know if I want to make the trip back.
I went to mine today and found one small one (they actually had two but one was pretty dented) for 50 cents and then large ones for 1.50. I bought 8 large ones and the one small one. The cashier asked me what I was going to do with all of them so I told her that I was going to use scrapbook paper to line the inside and make them theme related cans (like for Christmas I'll do a movie/date one for my sister and b-i-l and for my parents = well, I'll have to think on that one). She was "oh, that's such a good idea". I did leave a few (like 3 or 4 and only cause I didn't have the hands to carry them and didn't want to walk all the way back there to get the rest-LOL.
I would of never of thought to look in Staples for these and the other fun stuff mentioned. I dont even know if they have a Staples here in Oklahoma, hmm..gotta ck online I guess.
