Default Why did I buy these inks?!

I just sorted my inks and have a lot of Memento Inks. I know I bought them to go with a specific technique (or specific company's products) but can't remember why! Any ideas what they are best for?

Hi - I moved this to our tool & product talk forum where you will get more views. Memento works with Copic - is that why you bought it?

Memento inks are my preferred ink when I do sponging techniques. I estpeically like the mini pads when I am doing small images - i use eyeshadow sponges to quickly stroke in colors and the Memento minis offer a nice selection of colors and don't take up a lot of space on my desk top.

Memento inks are also wonderful for inking transparent (clear) stamps. The ink goes on without spotting, unlike SU dye inks.

My only issue with Memento inks is that if wish they would come out with many more colors! I like and use almost every color in their line, but I would like more options for blues, greens and pinks....and reds and browns.

Give the memento ink pads a chance to be used in your everyday cardmaking. They are dandy quality and will put out quality images. And, Memento Tuxedo black is copic friendly - won't smear when you use Copics with it.....I guess all of them are likely Copic- friendly, I just haven't had a need or desire to use any color but black with Copics.

Hope this encourages you to use the inks, they really are user friendly!

I'm on that list, for sure! Not just stampy stuff, either. I bought a little metal measuring gauge for sewing that I bought for NOT it's intended purpose. I saw a cool something done with it, but it's been in my drawer for about seven years now and I STILL don't know why I bought it...

The other colors of Memento ink are indeed fine for Copic coloring. I often use the Rich Cocoa and London Fog for images I am coloring that look better with a less stark outline than you get with Tuxedo Black.
And I love their Desert Sand shade for sponging beach scenes. Great inks!

Everyday, about lots of different things, starting with "why did I come into this room again?"

Does any of this look familiar?

Ok, earlier I was shaking my head in wonderment, how can you possibly buy a bunch of inks and not remember what you got them for...

Fast forward to yesterday. A stamp order arrived and in it was the brand new sunset ombré ink pad. I opened I up and said "Good night, what did I buy this for?" 😳 I KNOW I saw something within the past week, maybe a blog post, using this "incredible ink pad"! For the life of me I can't seem to find any bookmarks showing a project I saved.

😤 I'm joining the "why did I buy this ink" group as of now..when does the first therapy session start?

Oh Susy, wait till you get to the place where you walk into a room and you're proud that you still remember what you came in there for. lol!

ETA: and I really appreciated your first post with all the great info on inks!

What advantage is there to having Memento Luxe inks? I think that's the name.

The Luxe inks are the same colours, but in a pigment formulation, so you can heat emboss them. Handy if you have some stamped items in the Memento, but want to emboss, say, the sentiment in the same colour. (Not that you can't use versamark and then the Memento, but that would mean fewer inks to collect! )

I purchased a Memento Luxe ink in black a couple of years ago. I have pretty much all of the Memento inks. I absolutely HATE the Luxe ink! It is dry and I have to stamp it several times to make a good impression. I don't know what I ever did with it but I will never buy it again. I use Memento inks quite a bit...

I hadn't even unwrapped the pad for months. When I started using it, it was definitely dry and didn't give a good impression. I didn't want to buy the re-inker until I was sure I liked it. Are you able to refresh pigment ink with glycerine the same as dye ink pads? Anybody know?

I'm not crazy about the Luxe inks either. Mine are pretty dry as well.
