What are you going to buy at Michael's on Dec 26th?
I have not been to an after Christtmas sale in 10 years. I do want to get Christmas paper pads. And ribbon in colors of red, white, blue and silver. What do you all plan to buy? I can't til Hubby is off work. So I'll be at the mirsey of what's left. What will looK for? For those who go shopping at mike's plz share what you bought.
Good Luck in finding any deals after Christmas in your area. Our stores are pretty well cleaned out .
I went to Michael's, JoAnns and Hobby Lobby yesterday looking for large brads , a red Prima rose and battery operated mini lights with green cords. I found some brads but not the red Prima rose nor the battery operated lights . All were sold out.
I checked what was left in the Christmas stuff and " pick'n's" are slim LOL
Everyone has a lot of overpriced artificial wreaths and swags and boxed Christmas cards . They also have a lot of 3" wide ribbon. I saw 3 Christmas paper packs at Michaels . They all have paper Christmas plates and napkins
Yesterday I got the Joann flyer and they are not even advertising an after Christmas sale. They don't have enough left to waste a page in the flyer
I think the stores put out what didn't sell last year and ordered much less this year so they have very little left.
At least in my area this will not be a bargain hunter's after Christmas event. I don't plan to bother going .

Yeah, my Joann's and Michaels have slim pickings and empty shelves now too and look as if a wind storm blew through them. I'm staying home!
I think our stores put out a lot less this year, we get poor selections anyway and our stores are smaller than average.
The Michael's near me hasn't had anything new in at least a year. I don't shop there anymore. And JoAnn's doesn't have much either. So I'll be saving my $$$$ this year.
Michael's has been having Daily Deals of 50-70% off selected items for over a week, so they're pretty much down to little that I'm interested in. As others have said, many stores ordered less this year; they order almost a year in advance and they were probably still a little skittish about the economy a year ago. Some of the online stores have started their after-Christmas sales early, and they'll soon be coming out with their after-inventory sales. This might be a good year to shop online.
I had to pick up a couple of decorations yesterday at Michaels and I will agree, it looked like Dec 26th already. I was very disappointed. They cut down on the inventory like the other stores boo, hoo, hiss hiss!
I'm finding the same thing here. Hobby Lobby was wiped out of Christmas after the Thanksgiving weekend sale. JoAnn and Michaels had less to start with and when I went there the past week, very, very little Christmas left. Mostly artificial greenery, and the stuff no one wants.
I'm really hoping they will restock with new stuff after the first of the year. I'm getting gift cards for Christmas and will hold on to them for new stuff.
It is not just the craft stores that are picked clean.
We have a chain of stores here called Stein Flower & Garden. They always have lovely Christmas decorations and ornaments. The Day after Christmas sale at Steins is a tradition and people are in line a couple of hours before they open.
My neighbor said she went to Steins on Thursday to find an ornament or decoration with a snowman for her friend who collects them.
She said the shelves were nearly bare and not one thing left with a snowman on it .
I think those who go to the Steins After Christmas sale every year will be in for a disappointment this year
The blessing may be the stores will be forced to buy some new stuff for next year. All I have seen is the same stuff for 3 years. They stored what was not sold and hauled it out again year after year hoping to get rid of it.

I went to my Michaels yesterday and today. Christmas items were 70% off. Everything was pretty much gone. I did get some luxurious ribbons. One of the reasons I went back today was to buy more. I had the whole ribbon aisle to myself. Now, that was really luxurious. I just bought a few spools of ribbons and some floral sprays.
Day after Christmas all organizing items will be up. I think a few bits of Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is a big day for me so I keep track. I love hearts.
Well, a friend is trying to make some money making yarn scarves so I am going to get her a few skeins to help her out and hopefully buy the Essentials Pack from Spectrum Noir if there are any left. Yes, our Joanns was pretty bare but still had odd stuff left...Christmas stuff was nearly gone and some aisles had nothing.
I was at Michaels on Sunday and while many things were picked over they did have lots of holiday ribbon spools at 70% off. They were really pretty, too. I only bought one spool. I have no room to store anymore ribbons.
