Default What is the concensus on the Quickutz Silhouette?

I was just at my LSS and I mentioned I wanted a cricut and she said the silhouette is so much more useful.
Come to find out, she is also a little bitter because the Cricut was supposed to be exclusive to scrapbook stores but then it went to all the big chains. So now they are in love with this little machine.
I am real curious now!

I would also like to know. I took a class at Archivers recently, and the instructor raved about it. It is quite a bit more expensive, but you don't have to spend $30-$50 for new font cartridges. You can use any True Type font from the internet. You can also download different packages for a fee...kind of like I-Tunes. The instructor has one and uses it regularly. She wasn't trying to sell us one, so I trust what she says. She did say it helps to be somewhat familiar with things techy. I would love to hear from someone who has one and is using it!

I'm subbing to this one! I'm selling tons of my QK dies to possibly purchase one. I want to learn all I can before I make a definite decision.

um.... I was checking this out online the other day, and I think it's just like the wishblade only under a different name and sold by a different company. what makes me think this is the fact that it does the same things, is the same size and shape, and has the exact same blades. it may come with slightly different software, but really I suspect it's pretty much the same machine.

that being said, I have a Craft Robo that is also the same machine as wishblade, and I love it!!!

I'd sugguest asking what types of files it cuts from if it'll cut .GSD files you can also download tons of free files online.

If it were me, I'd go with the Silhouette over the Cricut.

With the Silhouette, you can cut ANYTHING you can download to your computer and just about anything you can create (if you are talented with that sort of thing). That means ANY true type font you can find for FREE on the internet.

With Cricut, you are limited to what is on their cartridges.
