Kinda OT, but want to learn more about the "Stitch It"
I have a friend in the states that sends me magazines, in my last batch was a "Creating Memory's" one, fun magazine lot's of scrapbooking ideas. There was an ad from we are memory keepers for a tool called the "Stitch It" (I think, and if I have the name wrong, I'm sorry as my computer and that magazine are in two different locations.
When is the product coming out? When will it be available, can I get it here in London or does a friend need to buy it and ship from the USA to me? It looks so cool, of course after seeing the add I want all the accessories as well! I'm waiting for it to come out so I can purchase the cinch at the same time, now if you guys will just come up with a carrying bag for the cinch, that would be awesome.
Seggie is it the sew easy tool kit, if it is then I think it was premiered on the UK qvc channel recently but it's been getting terrible reviews, you might want to check them out before you part with your money. Seems lots of unhappy customers are sending them back as it's just not up to much. Only scoring something like 1 star out of 5.
I was always a fan of wrmk and thought their tools were excellent quality but with all the problems with the cinch and now this sew easy kit could be that they're just not producing stuff to the high standard they used to.
I saw The Cinch demonstrated at The Angel Company's Annual Seminar in Kansas last June. I really liked some of the new details, especially the ROUND HOLES instead of square holes. Now, if the Bind It All would just finally wear out so I can justify the expense to myself!
Hahah, I have the BIA and love mine, but I do little things like post it note holders using the BIA for holes and wires, then cover with DP and bling it up, so much fun, quick gifts for little money but big inpact. Thanks for the heads up on the Stitch it, I hate sewing, maybe I should get over my "phobia"... lol.
Have a great day, I'll be out traveling for a while, will catch up soon!

Seggie, this sounds very cool - have pix to share? I'd love to see some of these. What a great stocking stuffer for Christmas or teachers' gift these would make.

I guess I was fortunate enough to sell my pink BIA and blue BIA. So I tried to order from TAC and low and behold not paying attention ended up with the Wizard, but the second time I got the Cinch at 50% off now waiting patiently for it to arrive. What got me was that you can use you O wires and you can punch every hole or you can adjust as to where you want the holes punched, you can use 12 x 12 papers in it. So I really can't wait to get it.

I got my cinch about two weeks after my original post. I have come up with a ton of combinations (even made a pdf). I was also told NOT do acrylic / plastic pages, so I do not. I do paper and chipboard, but the holes are not smooth and I constantly have to sand or file them down before I'm happy. I'd give it a 3.5 stars out of 5, if I could.

Thanks for your brief review; it helps me as it probably does others.
I have been wondering about the Cinch. I guess the fact that I never use my BIA should be a clue that I probably won't use the Cinch either. Good information on this thread. Thanks everybody!

Not necessarily, the Cinch is way EASIER to use on most things. I wish it had double expandable rulers; and I wish it/they went out farther. It's a simple machine. I also have the blue BIA, I don't use it as much. I really like the way the Cinch puncher/drills can turn off an on to make different patterns for binding. Mine does not punch that great; I have to tweak the holes, but on the other hand, I have to do the same w/ my BBIA.
I just purchased the Cinch today, I had to take the first one back because the second to the last peg was hard to pull out and the very last one, I couldn't even pull out. Got it at Archiver's with a coupon, they were very nice and exchanged it for another one. So make sure you try it out soon after you buy it in case there is a problem with the machine. Now I'm off to play with my new machine. Thinking about donating my blue BIA to the grade school my girls use to go to, I think the teachers would like to have it to use/play with!

I just got my Cinch and used it for the first time last night, no problem with rough holes. I wonder what is up with that? That is a bummer.
Would you be willing to share your PFD?
Thank you!

Yes - where do I put it? Also, don't freak out if I don't put it up right away, super busy for the next few weeks - we're getting my dad ready for surgery

I figured since We R Memory Keepers made the CAD it wouldn't be a problem to use acrylic...I've actually punched acrylic in the Cinch without a hitch.
I thought I would post as I have shown in pictures how I use the centre mark on my cinch. A friend uses this method as she hates to calculate and do the sums.
My blog has loads of books i have made and I have added links if it was off another person.
I buy my binding for my printers, they were cheaper than the ones you get to go with the machine, but and 2:1 from the office supplies works.
Good question! Do you gave a blog you could post it on and then share the link here for it?
I hope all goes well with your dad
Thank you,
Michelle
Thank you for the kind thought Michelle
No, I don't blog - Anyone know how to upload it here?
I originally did the PDF in Excel and converted it to PDF; it basic, but it does the trick. I'm sure there are gazillions of combos I didn't think of yet ...
It's a great reference to begin ...
I'd love to upload it, but I'm not forum savvy either, so I will accept help getting it posted here

I don't remember where I heard you should not use acrylic or plastic pages, but you are right ... Jennifer from WRMK says you CAN punch acrylic

Reason: spelling error
twink, to post it to the thread, see below where it says "go advance" click on that and it will take you to the advance section. Scroll down to "additional options" you will be a box that says "manage attachments" click on that. A box will pop up, look thru the different types of attachments, pick the one you want, click on the one you want, than click on the upload button, after it is done make sure you click on the button to close it and it will pop back to where you started. Right above the "manage attachement" button you should see the attachment listed, if it is there can click on submit reply and it should appear on the thread. I hope this makes sense and that I explained it correctly to you so that you can follow it.

Sharon, I love all the albums you are doing! That is exactly the kind of stuff I want to make
I got a Cinch for Christmas, my hubby got it at Hobby Lobby and he used a coupon (smart man). We just moved into a new house so I haven't had a chance to use it, still organizing my craft room!!

Sharon, I visited your blog - cute, cute. Looks like you've mastered the Cinch.
I don't fully understand your last sentence, please forgive. Are you saying that I can purchase binding rings for the Cinch at an office supply store, just be sure to get the 2:1 ratio? When you say you "buy (your) binding for (your) printers, is that what you're referring to?
Sorry to be dunder-headed, just want to make sure I understand you correctly.
I was guessing she got them from her local print shop. I found a good, less expensive source for binding wires: www.bindingmachine.com
I got 100 12 inch long 7/8" wires for under $40, not including shipping. Shipping to Alaska is high but it was doable with this company, I'm sure it will be cheaper for the lower 48 states. They ship very fast also. These will last me a long time, I've already made 3 books using just one wire cut down to the size I need. I did buy a 6 pack of Zutter binders, they are exactly the same.
Oh My Crafts (ohmycrafts.com) is having a Memorial Day sale for 20% off all items through tonight. I just bought the Cinch binding machine. It was on sale, plus I used the coupon. I bought it for $39.99! Standard Shipping is $5.95. (be sure to check the correct shipping option otherwise you could be paying $18!) This price is MUCH less than ebay's.

Sorry so long in a reply, as you seem to have worked out you can buy the
2:1 ratio bindings from any Office Suppliers and yes they work out much cheaper.
I sold my bind it all. I couldn't figure out how to just get three holes on the side of the bind without having all the holes being punched.
I got the bind it all when they came out the orignal blue one.
After I bought it, yes, I used it, but you couldn't put holes anywhere without being funny looking on the side.
So when I heard about the cinch, I was going to buy one of those, until someone had sent me a Cinch Vs2. I ended up buying that new and improved one that is Vs2. I love this machine so much better. I don't have to pay for classes on how to get the bind it all to do this and that. The cinch is so cool and you can punch as many holes you want and any where you like.
I really love the new feature on the cinching part, there is a knob on the cinch area and tells you what sizes to choose to cinch. This way you aren't over cinching the owires. It's nice to have something like that on the cinch area, all you need to do is turn the knob to the desired owire size is.
I have a extra set of the sizes on those tags from the bind it all, so I am able to put the owires and line up to see the size and then just turn the knob to that size of wire. Love it. I would advise anyone who doesn't have a binding machine is to buh the Cinch.

Does the cinch work to make a book using US letter sized paper. I saw the wires are 12" long but I need them to be 11"? Is this stupid question? Do they come in the size I need too?

It has a list on the base of how many holes you need.
You can have from 1 hole to 23 holes, because that is how many I have on my wire binding.
TIP...
Cut a bit of paper from junk mail the same size as your book, it does not need to be as wide, just the size of the edge you want to bind.
Punch the holes on this trial bit of paper. Check you have enough holes for you project.
Now fold it in half to see if it is centered, if not just adjust the slide ruler to the correct place.
