I just got mine last week and have been having loads of fun playing with it!! The paper sort of stuck on the pegs at first, but it's getting looser as I use it so I think it won't take long until it's as smooth as you see it on the videos. I have punched chipboard, paper, and acetate with it no problem.
I got mine at 7KidsCollegeFund. She can only get them from We Are Memory Keepers in small amounts, and I believe she just sold her second batch, but she sells them for $79.99 so it's worth checking back. She also sells all the wires and tools for them.
I just received my replacement cinch and it works great!! I am so excited. I am planning on making a few Robotz (from the cricut cartridge) notebooks with my two boys this week

Did you return it to HSN or get a replacement from WRMK?
Looks like some of you returned your machine to WRMK for misalignment. Me too. For those of you who did, do you recall the turnaround time of getting a replacement?

I didn't even ask when to expect a replacement but I read somewhere that someone was told it could take a month. I called two weeks ago and just called again since i had not recieved the label to send it back. I was told that some (labels/call tag) went out yesterday and i should call back next week if I don't have by end of this week.
I watched the video and it looks a lot easier than the bia, but were I have the most trouble with my BIA is when my inside pages are smaller than the cover. I screw it up all the time. Not quite sure how to do that.
Can the cinch easily punch inside pages that are smaller than the cover so they line up?
TIA,
Katie
I got my pink BIA for Christmas but haven't really had a chance to 'play' with it much. From watching some instructional tuts, there is a paper stop guide on one of the sides that have letters - 'C' for covers that should be slightly larger than the pages & 'D' for the pages so that they will tuck into the covers and not show.
I also returned my Cinch to WRMK - they received it last week. I sent it through my own FedEx acct rather than wait for a call tag. I hope the replacement arrives soon! It sounds like you are all having fun with yours and I'm anxious to start creating some great little books!
I have it. I bought it off HSN 2 weeks ago. I have the BIA, and I LOVE the CINCH. It is so easy to use. The BIA takes a lot of steps and the cinch is much fewer steps. It also cuts 12 x 12 at once, whereas the BIA has to do it in a few steps.
It costs a little more, but totally worth it.

I called WRMK yesterday to inquire about the status of my replacement Cinch tool. I was told that it was going to ship that afternoon. Apparently, they are shipping in groups, not as defective machines are received! So -- if you returned your Cinch around the time I did (2 weeks ago), your replacement just may be on its way! Yay!

Thanks for the heads up! I can't wait to get my machine back to be able to play.
My Cinch Tool finally arrived! I took it through a little trial run and it seems to be working just as it should. I can't wait to make a few little books for Mother's Day using paper covered CDs instead of cardstock or chip board for the pages.
For anyone that isn’t sure how to use the Cinch Tool (provided instructions aren’t great for those of us that haven’t used a binding machine before), check out the 2 videos from the CHA show on youtube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joeg7dC2dwY and also at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jkVpJjS75U . The second video shows how to make longer books. My replacement Cinch works just like the one in the video.
FYI, Oh My Crafts has the Cinch in stock. If you sign up for their newsletters, they almost always have a 20% of ANY order coupon code (no products excluded) and they sometimes include free shipping when over a certain amount.
They have an exclusive version that is NOT pink. I am not a pink fan, and I would like to get one of these for my office, where pink would not do at all!
I have ordered from them before and been satisfied with the service and extremely happy with the prices.
I received The Cinch on Monday and punched and bound several things that night. Can I just say that I love it? So easy, I was punching and binding like a pro on (almost) the first try. I had a Bind-it-All on the shelf for nearly two years and never had the courage to even test it out but the Cinch has changed my binding outlook.
HOWEVER, last night I went to use it for a larger book (the previous night I used 3/4 inch wires and last night I was using 1 1/4 inch coils), and I ran into a problem when I tried to press down the coils. The handle was off kilter (i.e., the bar was not even all the way across, one side was higher than the other) and it would not connect with the coils at all. The dial that you push in and turn to the appropriate coil width also was stuck. I got it to move but the pointer on the knob doesn't turn to the measurements - instead the pointer is in the opposite direction. I'm not sure if that is how it was on Monday night because I really didn't notice but I wasn't having any trouble then.
Eventually, after some coaxing, I got the machine to bind the 1 1/4 inch coil and everything worked. I'm worried about the next time, though. I'm wondering whether I should send it back. I truly have only used it five times (four times on Monday and one time last night).
Has anyone else experienced this type of problem with their Cinch?
I had the exact same problem. I also had a problem with the paper getting stuck and not dropping into the waste bucket. Mine has gone back to WR memory keeper via the store I bought it from. I had called WR Memory Keepers and they told be to bring it back to the store I bought it from (a Local LSS not and online retailer).
I was surprised how uneven the bar was that squeezed the O-wires.
Thought I'd join as I have one too, they just arrived in the UK. I saw on a site if you add a wooden shimmy you can close the smaller wires, must admit I used a DVD spine.. well it worked. just watch the coils as they close and stop when they touch.
Sharon: I'm glad you posted that info. I noticed that the wire settings only went down to 3/4" and I have some smaller wires. I was going to try something like a shim so your idea of the DVD case is very timely. Now I just need to get the machine working properly!
I've been playing with The Cinch since I got it back a couple of months ago. I did a few projects and did well initially. Now, I'm having issues of the o-wire not making looking round. Are any of you experiencing this? Any tips?
I received The Cinch a few weeks ago. Was very nervous because I had read good and bad things about it so I really didn't know what to expect. Anyways I absoulutely LOVE it. This is my first binding machine so I can't compare it but I have no regrets so far on purchasing it. Ruebimages I can tell you though when I went to press the o-wire together on the first few that I did they didn't come out round either. I was binding a catalog so I had to do it once then move it down and do it again. I found out that when you go to press the handle down don't stop. Do it with one press. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip. I watched the youtube videos and I noticed how the wire was being held to get the o-wire nice and round. I love this toy!
I have this machine also, and it is wonderful. I like the rings to sort of overlap a little bit so I found that if I have 1 inch rings, I bind it using the 3/4 setting and it gets them just right. And thanks for the idea for smaller rings that will help!
I've never owned a binding system. Just saw the Cinch ad in Paper Crafts and was wondering if anyone who has now used BOTH the BIA & CINCH could give me the pros & cons. I'd love to invest in one of these. TIA
I have the blue BIA and The Cinch! The Cinch is by far superior in my opinion. It is so easy to use and no guess work.
I do have a question though. For all you ladies, have you had a greasy residue come from the "punchers/piercers"? I have. I have cleaned it by punching paper towels, but it appears to rejuvenate the grease after it sits. Is my machine defective?

Hi, Milesm! Welcome to SCS!!
To answer your question, yes, there is manufacturing grease on the punches (at least, there was with mine). I punched scrap cardstock many times, until I could see there was no residue left on the cs before punching for an actual project. If yours is extra-greasy, you might want to do the scrap punching each time it has been sitting for a while. Eventually, there should be less excess to deal with. If not, call WRM.
I had to return my first Cinch, as one of the pegs pulled out completely. The replacement worked better to begin with and required much less in the way of "cleaning" punches, so maybe not every unit will have the same amount of grease.
Good luck!

I just played with the Cinch at Archivers over the weekend when I was out of town. I love the fact that you can punch holes in different places -- unlike the BIA. And that the holes are circles, not squares.
However, it was $99. That's a big chunck of change so I "may" put this on my christmas wish list....
I am in LOVE!! I just got home from a fall stampin' retreat where we made scrapbooks & used the Cinch to bind them. It was like cutting butter, it was so EASY!! I want one now. I am adding it to my Christmas wish list & will hopefully get it.

Initially I didn't think I wanted a binding machine. Then when I came up with ideas for xmas presents, I decided to get the Cinch. I love it! I have made art journals for myself, collected my favourite recipes and made a book for a friend, and also made colouring books for my nieces with copyright free artwork. It's soooooo much fun. It works like a charm and you can punch any length you need.
It's a great idea to put on your xmas list.
