Default Trying to decide Cameo or Portrait

I am thinking of getting a silhouette. Since I am only going to be making cards. Not sure if I should get the cameo or the portrait. Besides the larger cutting area are there any other benefits to get the cameo?

Thanks,
Marilyn

I don't have the Portrait, I have the Cameo even though I am primarily a cardmaker. There are numerous card templates on the Cameo website that need the larger paper. Also, if I am making multiple cards I can cut more items from a 12x12 piece of paper.

I also only make cards .
I decided on the Cameo because it is wider.

The Portrait only has an 8" cutting mat so you would need to trim 1/2" from all of your 8 & 1/2" x 11" paper before you placed it on the mat.

As was mentioned there are cut files for cards, baskets and such that require a wider cutting surface and I can cut multiples so I don't waste paper.

Thank you for your opinions. I am in the process of trying to sell my cricut. Once I get that sold I will see about getting the cameo.

I considered myself a cardmaker only since I haven't done scrapbooking in years and purchased the Portrait (there was no Cameo yet). I was really happy with my Portrait UNTIL I discovered SVG Cuts. I love their designs and especially their 3d projects. Most however required the 12 x 12 format so I gave in and bought the Cameo. So I have both now and each are attached to a different computer.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably go with the Cameo since it gives me the option to go larger.
