Default Thoughts on the Vagabond?

Hi stamping friends!

I do a lot of mass production of card pieces for card classes and Christmas cards, etc.. I was hoping to get some advice about the Sizzix Vagabond- is it worth the price? Any pro's or con's? I do have a Big Shot but I'm worried I will get carpal tunnel from all the cranking I do getting ready for classes and stuff ️hahaha Also, is there more than one version of the Vagabond?

Thanks for your thoughts!!

I love my Vagabond - it's perfect for my needs and I got it to save myself with the cranking. I have a bigshot that I keep as a backup to my Vagabond if I ever were to need a backup.

Sizzix.com has all the information about the machine. Amazon.com has lots of reviews.

Things to think about: Check out the width of the opening - there are other machines that have wider openings if you want to use larger/wider format dies/platforms/embossing folders. Also I religiously check the thickness of my sandwich with the keys that come with the Vagabond before putting the sandwich through my Vagabond - I don't want to break it by using too thick of a sandwich.

HTH.

I have the old version of the Sizzix Express and love it. I have had it several years.

The new Vagabond 2 is supposed to be in craft stores in December. I would recommend buying that one over the earlier model, which has had some mechanical problems for users. I love my Vagabond and will probably buy another if mine breaks down. There are some threads from summer on this forum about the new model. I wish it were a wider tray, but it's not.

I love my Vagabond!!! I got mine for my birthday back in August at Joann's for $149.99 with a coupon............but I see they have it on sale right now for that price! I watched a lot of videos on how to use it before I purchased it.....I would recommend you do too. One if the best ones I watched was by Stacie at Scrapbooking Made Simple...here is a link:

Just a thought....I believe the eBosser has a wider opening than the Vagabond and looks like it takes up less space. I don't know if you have to hold the button down while the die moves thru the machine. It's made by Craftwell and Teresa Collins has her line of it on HSN, I think.

I'll be very interested in the Vagabond 2. I checked it out; the gears are now metal instead of plastic. It also comes with a one-year warranty from Sizzix.

If I were you, I would wait on the new one!

Not sure what size opening the Vagabond has, but the E-Bosser is 8.5 inches. Link HERE for all the info on it.

I love my eBosser! I have had it for 2 years now and being on the design team for Heartfelt Creations means I use it more than a "normal" crafter. The eBosser is made by Craftwell and I know they have a newer version out call the Cut 'n Boss. While I haven't used that machine, I can definitely endorse the eBosser!! Fantastic!!

I like te Ebosser as well and you do not have to hold the button down as the sandwich moves thru the machine. You just hold it down to start the sandwich thru.
Hard choice!

I have a questions about the vagabond and the embosser. When I saw a review of them on the you tube them seemed very noisy. Are they that loud or was it the videos?

I am on my second vagabond. The first one started to make grinding noises when all I was dong was using an embossing folder. I have a bad arm, so I thought this would be wonderful. The guarantee was one month out of date. They offered to replace it, but I would have to pay shipping both ways. Well that was almost the cost of a new one. I did receive another one as a gift, but I am scared this one will break too. I have had a few friends who have had similar problems. Wait for the new one. Sizzix knows there is a problem.
