Not sure if this has been asked before, but i currently have 2 cuttlebug dies but no cuttlebug machine. I just cant afford it right now but I was wondering if there was a way i could use my dies buy using some type of househould tool??? I am so sorry if this a silly question!
This is a great question!! I am so tempted by the Cuttlebug--because and only because of the GREAT embossed background I have been spying in the gallery. The die cutting or even small item embossing is not a "me" thing....not to mention--I have read some of the cuttlebug master thread, and it seems like a lot of work! Keep part a in the freezer....part b has to be replaced, but only within a certain amount of time, you need shims, plates, etc...of course, I am exaggerating, but it seems like a technologies class...I hoped to wait until the CB had worked out all it's problems with cracking plates, etc and get one...is it really that hard or does it just seem overwhelming by the 80 page thread up top?? Could I possibly get the few embossing BG dies I like and do them with a rolling pin??Cause so far it is just the bubbles and the snowflakes I like...Do tell!! Keri

Yes, you CAN use the embossing folders with your common rolling pin. Just put the paper in the embossing folder, then roll over it with the pin as hard as you can. The more rolling and harder you roll, the deeper your embossed image will be. It's really, really simple. Hope this helps!

A cheap pasta machine ($20 at Mike's - use coupon - $12) works beautifully with the embossing folders. I don't spritz it with water or anything. I don't think it would work for the die cuts.
