It's hard to make recomendations based on such a general request. Personal tastes vary and the most popular stamps in a catalog may not be what you like. I tend to lean more toward making christmas cards, so I have been concentrating on ordering from the holiday catalog each month before it expires. I will move on to the main catty afterwards. My favorites so far are:

Scentsational Holiday bundle (my #1 favorite this year)
Ornament Keepsakes bundle
Merry Minis with matching punches
Greetings of the Season
Frosty Friends
Heart of Christmas

I do like many others, but unfortunately I can't afford them all.

One thing I like to do when having a difficult time deciding is checking out samples of cards in the SU gallery, or googling images on the net.

I also find it useful to check out the set in the gallery. If there are a lot of examples, then the set is easy to use. If I don't get a lot of ideas I tend to look a second time at whether or not to purchase the set.
