Default SU spritzer - how to use for fine mist?

I bought a pack of SU spritzers to do the misting on backgrounds etc, but when I put a couple of drops of ink and some water in, it seems to spray partially a fine mist but also a fair amount of big wet globs.

This is not what I imagined it doing - does anyone have any tips please? How far away do you hold the cardstock? Do you spray horizontally or directly down onto the card...?

Have I mixed the liquid wrongly? Will it make a difference how much ink vs water there is in the tube?

Any help appreciated

I use ink and rubbing alcohol.
25 drops of ink, then fill with rubbing alcohol.
Don't hold it too close to the paper when you spray.

Let us know how it works. A photo of your card in the gallery with a link would be awesome!
