I bought the Cuttlebug Build a Flower die/embossing set hoping it would work with the SU Pick a Petal stamp set. I tried it this afternoon and it does. It only cuts out the 2 larger petals and you only have to trim a smidge off the end. Much better than cutting out the whole petal. I cut about 6 petals and then used temp. adhesive to stick it to my table and then the SAMJ to line up the stamp - worked like a charm. I like this stamp set but tend to not use it because I hate cutting things out. This works great!
i was excited too that it would work, one of the reasons I bought it. It certainly does help to get a nice cut out, instead of my bad scissoring!

I am not sure how to post a picture of this. I just ran WW cardstock through the cuttlebug using the die. It cuts out a large petal. I then just taped my petal to the table so it wouldn't move when I used the stamp-a-ma-jig. You line up one of the large petal stamps and stamp onto the cut out petal. There is just a teeny bit to trim at the non-pointy end. It lines up perfectly. I hope this makes sense as I usually scan my cards. I don't think I could scan this in. Sorry, I am not that great with my camera yet.
I bought this CB set, too, hoping for the same effect. Thanks for test driving it because I haven't tried it out yet. I was also intrigued because this set comes with embossing folders plus the die.
I will say that you can get a pretty good trim of PaP using the large oval SU! punch as well. Just have to trim off a small bit. Beats cutting the entire petal.
I wondered if the two would work together! Glad someone else took the
"risk" and tried it out for all of us! Thanks, Charlene! You have given me a reason to go shopping today!! (Like I really NEEDED one!!)
Firecracker Designs by Pamela makes die cuts for many of her stamps. She did a video tutorial on how to use these and that sounds pretty much the same as what you all are trying to do. Check it out! HTH
Yes, that is basically the same idea except I put the stamp onto the die cut flower petal. I think I may have to try putting the die cut onto the stamp and see how that works.
