First, let me say that I really love the new owl punch! I was wondering if there is an easy way to attach all the "eye" pieces, especially the tiniest ones! I made a few, but it was a challenge!
I don't have my owl punch as yet (just ordered it last night) but I have done punch art in the past and used very small pieces. My tip is to use a toothpick and
Tombow Mono Multi Glue (green label), you can get a small dot on the point of the toothpick to put on the small pieces. Another tip is to let a little of the glue dry on the opposite end; it will be tacky and you can use it to pick up small pieces. I have used this idea for almost 10 yrs........ Hope this helps.
I also keep several ready to use as pick-ups standing up in the green floral stryofoam (sp). I have a round one sitting in an small round ashtray that I bought for 5 cents at a yard sell.......
Tweezers...I couldn't find mine my first go around with this punch. Anybody old enough to remember the game of Tiddlywinks? That's just what it seemed like trying to do those eyes, lol! They are so close together that I'd lay the second eye down next to the first and just barely grazing the first one sent it flipping away...crazy.
ohh I love my google eyes!! I use them for all my eyes - I agree it makes them so cute!
I do use the Xyron little X sticker maker for tiny pieces cuz I'm a slob when it comes to wet glue and even tho it dries clear you can still see the mess I make!!
I love the google eyes idea! duh slapping my self on the forehead-why didn't I thik of that! LoL
just a tip, I had this issue too, I used a toothpick with a small little ball of playdough at the bottom, it will be tacky enough to "pick up" small item at which time I can use the tombo wet glue then adhere to where I want it, then I use the piercer tool to hold it down as I remove the toothpick tool. ....we moms get creative with what we got.
I have a little Creative Memories Multipurpose Tool that I use to position stickers (and pry up pieces I've already stuck down). I used to clean it all the time with alcohol swabs, but when I couldn't find them, I realized that leaving the adhesive residue on it made it great for picking up tiny pieces and gems.
I also have the Quick Stick Tool, but find I hate fussing with the green goo every time I open it up.

Try Angie Juda's website here. She has a good video using some two way glue and a special tool for the eyes. I will not get the punch unless I end up getting the thing she uses to attach it! Scroll about half way down the page for the owl video!

I have that OuickStik tool and hate the way the green stick'em comes out more every time I remove the cap no matter how carefully I remove it. It is a good tool though. I still use my toothpicks with the
Tomboy on one end that has dried.

Genius! You just saved me 6.95 plus shipping!!!!!!
I use a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen for my tiniest pieces. It's like a ball-point pen that writes with glue so you can get a very thin line/tiny dot of glue.
I am looking forward to another company coming out with a similiar punch or die. I also love the look of this punch but can't bring myself to pay S/H and tax along with the high price when I know I will be able to get something cheaper soon!! this has almost become my first SU purchase.
Somewhere on another thread here on SCS someone suggested using an ordinary white crayon to pick up the tiniest piece of paper or those really small Jewels. I have tried it and it does work.
I havemade tons of these little guys without any problems with the little eyes, following Dawn Griffiths advice.
I simply put a tiny spot of tombow where I want the tiny black spot to go.
Simply moisten your finger and pick up the spot and place it directly on the glue... easy peasy. This goes very quickly when you are making a bunch. Hope this helps.
I don't think anyone has mentioned my demo's method. Put a small dot of glue on the place you are putting the last part of the eye. Take a toothpick and put it in your mouth. Touch the damp toothpick to the small part and place on your glue. I was making several at her house so I made a little puddle of glue on scrap. I used one end of the toothpick to put glue on and the other end to lick. Just make sure you don't lick the glue and to use your own toothpick.
I am so glad to see this thread. I just got my owl punch yesterday and can't wait to play with it. I do like the idea of google eyes. It will just give it that extra ZING!!!! I am ordering the two step bird next. I want that branch that comes with it.
Sorry this has taken so long. Here is one little guy I use a refrgerator magnet.
Very cute! Thanks. I'm using the heart shape for a beak. Here's an example. Oh yea, I forgot to tell you I punch a strip of another color for the feet too.
